Ahmad Goree succeeds the late Kirk Myers-Hill, who was president of Dallas Southern Pride, a premier organization hosting pride events throughout the Dallas area. Myers-Hill died in April; Goree said he's committed to continuing his work "to promote equality and justice for all." Dallas Southern Pride is now gearing up for the Juneteenth Unity Weekend Celebration June 15-20.

With a theme of "Transforming Texas," the event also featured Dallas Mavericks President and CEO Cynt Marshall, the award-winning Garland High School step team, and a live-streaming room next door where 200 local students took it all in. “These young leaders can now participate in the conversation around how AI should be developed and used,” Cuban has said. “We’re giving them a seat at the table.”
