Dallas-based architecture and design firm Corgan, a nearly 90-year-old firm, has won the CoreNet Global 2026 Sustainable Leadership Award for its work on the Wells Fargo corporate campus in Irving, which opened last year.

Corgan says the Wells Fargo campus was designed to be the largest corporate campus in the United States that generates more renewable energy over a year than it consumes. The 22-acre Las Colinas development spans 850,000 square feet across two 10-story office buildings and can accommodate about 4,000 employees. It is certified LEED Platinum.

Solar panels cover 360,000 square feet across the roofs of both office buildings and the parking structure. They are projected to generate about 5% more electricity each year than the campus uses, with the surplus returned to the grid. Water-cooled chillers run roughly 35% more efficiently than a baseline system. Low-flow fixtures and gray water reuse cut indoor water use by 74%, and the campus reduced potable water use for landscaping by 58% from its baseline, Corgan said.

“Wells Fargo set an ambitious sustainability target, and together we showed what’s possible when environmental performance is truly a design driver,” said Varun Kohli, principal and director of sustainability at Corgan, in a statement. “By combining net-positive energy strategies with human-centered design, Wells Fargo’s campus demonstrates that sustainability is not a constraint on design excellence — it elevates it.”

CoreNet Global is an international association for corporate real estate professionals with about 10,000 members in 50 countries. Corgan President Lindsay Wilson said in a statement that the award highlights both the client partnership behind the project and the work of Corgan’s design teams.

Corgan’s sustainability targets

Corgan publishes its carbon-neutral goals on its website. The firm says architecture, engineering and construction professionals “have a specific responsibility in how our work impacts communities from chosen materials to water usage and beyond.”

In addition to the Sustainable Leadership Award, CoreNet Global is considering Corgan for the Global Innovator’s Award, the highest honor the organization offers. CoreNet Global will present both awards at its 2026 North America Summit in Chicago in October.
