Dallas CASA’s Parade of Playhouses at NorthPark Helps Support Abused and Neglected Kids

Buy a $5 raffle ticket and you'll help Dallas CASA and its volunteer advocates help kids in need. You also might win one of these architect-designed kids' dream showplaces for your own back yard.

Ask an architect to imagine a kid’s dream playhouse, and they’ll come up with something you wish you could play in yourself—all day long. That’s the idea behind an exhibition on display through July 30 at Dallas’ NorthPark Center.

Dallas CASA’s Parade of Playhouses offers 13 playhouses on display at NorthPark, showcasing charming, inventive work by Dallas-area architects and builders. And by dropping $5 for a raffle ticket for a good cause—or 5 for $20—you could end up owning one of these kid-pleasers for your own back yard. You can also buy a raffle ticket for a $1,000 NorthPark gift card or a Luka Doncic prize package from the Dallas Mavericks.

The Parade of Playhouses supports the work of Dallas CASA, a nonprofit whose volunteer advocates help abused and neglected children experience safe childhoods and grow into resourceful, healthy adults.

Getting all these fun little playhouses into NorthPark took a lot of volunteer work, too—from architects, builders, organizations, corporations and individual supporters alike.

For this annual fun-filled community event, generous architects, builders, organizations corporations and individuals design, build and donate extraordinary children’s playhouses to raise funds so that Dallas CASA can provide more volunteer advocates to help children experience safe childhoods and grow into resourceful, healthy adults.

The best way to see the playhouses is to head straight to NorthPark. But don’t worry—we have other ways to see them from wherever you are.

Dallas-based MySweetCharity, a news platform that covers nonprofit and philanthropic endeavors in North Texas, has a great photo gallery of this year’s playhouses.

Candy’s Dirt has some revealing articles by writer and real estate agent Nikki Barringer about some of this year’s playhouses—including a Highland Park High School team that designed a Charles Dilbeck-inspired playhouse; a playhouse inspired by The QUAD development in Uptown Dallas; and a playhouse inspired by iconic Texas theaters like The Majestic and The Paramount.

To order raffle tickets for any of the 13 playhouses—or the Luka Doncic Mavericks package of $1,000 NorthPark gift card—you can go to this Dallas CASA page.
