Frisco Startup DoTells Wants to Help You Find Your Lost Valuables

Husband-and-wife co-founders Neha Shah and Vir Mehta know the feeling. When you lose something, you want to get it back—but how does the finder know how to reach you? Their solution: DoTells, QR-tagged stickers for everything from keys to luggage to cell phones. After years of reading menus by phone cameras during COVID, people "just get it," Shah says. Finders scan the tag and connect anonymously with the owner to return the item.
“It’s a low-key technology, but with game-changing effects,” Shah says.

PH Innovation Holdings, operator of fitness gear and training tech platform company POWERHANDZ, has landed a “multimillion-dollar” investment from Vanguard Holdings Group in an all-Frisco deal. In addition, Vanguard Holdings has issued a private tender offer to acquire all issued and outstanding minority shares of PHI.
“This partnership will allow us to reach more athletes and shift mindsets about overall performance, physically and financially,” said POWERHANDZ CEO Danyel Surrency Jones.

Joining Elysian Park Ventures—the private investment arm of the Los Angeles Dodgers’ ownership group—PGA of America has formed EP Golf Ventures, LLC. Its first two investments include mobile golf simulator Dryvebox and 3D motion-capture coaching app startup Sportsbox AI.
“Through EP Golf Ventures, we'll be able to identify and invest in the most promising businesses within the golf industry to support both innovation and the growth of the game,” says PGA CEO Seth Waugh.

Slated to break ground next year, Firefly Park will add "a significantly different, cool vibe to Frisco," says the city's mayor. Developer Kyle Wilks of Wilks Development hired Amsterdam-based UNStudio to develop the master plan in collaboration with Sasaki Associates.
That European influence is showing up in the 230-acre project's walkable, park-laden layout—and in the architecture's future-forward look. The Dream Hotel will be designed with hints of the region, with a design philosophy “both surreal and contemporarily chic."

Frisco-based InspectIR received the FDA emergency use authorization on Friday for its breathalyzer test, which tests for organic compounds associated with COVID-19 in a person's breath. According to a study, the tests are more effective than the rapid antigen tests available for free from the U.S. government.
