UNT Health Science Center Gets $2M from Tarrant County to Boost Emerging Tech Companies

The UNT Health Science Center at Fort Worth has received a $2 million grant from Tarrant County to help emerging tech startups successfully apply for federal Small Business Innovation Research funding. "It’s about creating entrepreneurial excellence in Tarrant County,” says Tarrant County Commissioner Roy Brooks. “This puts us at the forefront of innovation in bringing tech industries to Tarrant County as an economic development tool.”

Techstars’ Fort Worth Program Puts Out Last Call for Applicants Ahead of Fall Accelerator

The Techstars Physical Health accelerator has an application deadline of May 11 for its 13-week program this fall, where 10 companies will be eligible to receive up to $120,000 in seed funding capital from the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth and Goff Capital, in addition to mentorship and programming.

TCU School of Medicine Is Building a New Campus in Fort Worth’s Medical District

The project will kick off with a four-story, approximately 100,000-square-foot medical education building, which TCU says will serve as an “academic hub” for around 240 students and hundreds of faculty and staff members, after its planned completion in 2024.
