The rapid growth of coworking continues in North Texas with the latest announcement that Common Desk will open a 52,000-square-foot space in Trammell Crow Center next year.
This will be Common Desk’s fifth location in the region and its largest, occupying two floors in the downtown skyscraper. Amenities will include luxury enterprise suites for larger startups and companies with 15 to 75 employees. There will also be a private whiskey lounge for Common Desk members. Other tenants within the building will be able to buy social memberships to access Common Desk in the afternoons, including the whiskey lounge. The room can also be rented out.

Competition among coworking spaces has increased in recent years, including WeWork, which took over several floors within Thanksgiving Tower. Common Desk was founded six years and has no plans to slow down.
“For the past 12 months, we’ve been working on new elevated experiences within our spaces,” said Nick Clark, founder and CEO of Common Desk. “We want our customers to get a level of service that is on par with luxury high-end boutique hotels.”
It’s not just for startups, either, as they anticipate the downtown location will draw corporate users, too.
“We think the Common Desk offering will significantly broaden the appeal of Trammel Crow Center,” said Dale Todd, executive director of J.P. Morgan Asset Management. “There is a clear trend of increasing demand for coworking spaces by a wide range of traditional class A office users, including law firms and Fortune 500 companies.”
The month-to-month desk rental style of coworking is changing how landlords market their space.
“Companies are re-evaluating everything about the way they consume office space,” said Ramsey March, managing director and partner of Stream Realty Partners.
