1. Mark Cuban Foundation Offers Free AI Bootcamps Through Partnerships with Walmart, Elevate, and Headstorm

In its second year, the initiative brought tech programming to 42 underserved DFW students through three virtual sessions. It plans to host another round of AI Bootcamps in Dallas, El Paso, Omaha, Chicago, and Green Bay later this year.

2. Fast-Growing Trading App Robinhood Invests in Southlake Expansion, Plans Hires

The pioneering broker of free trades says it will hire hundreds of financial representatives in the region this year. On Monday, Robinhood reported some 4.3 million daily average revenue trades in June 2020, according to CNBC.

4. Allied BioScience’s Antimicrobial Surface Coating Becomes First Approved by EPA to Continuously Protect Against COVID-19

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has given approval to Allied BioScience for its electrostatic spraying solution, SurfaceWise2. The next-gen coating will give critical protection to Texas-based companies like early partner American Airlines.

5. Dallas-based Biotech CerSci Acquired by ACADIA Pharmaceutical in $52.5M Deal

CerSci shareholders could net another $887 million in milestones and tiered royalties.

The clinical-stage startup, which launched in 2015, is developing a new generation of non-opioid meds to treat acute and chronic pain.
