UTA Study Shows Machine Learning Technique Is 30% Better at Predicting Cancer Cure Rates

UT Arlington principal investigator Dr. Suvra Pal said that previous studies modeling the probability of a cancer cure—also called the cure rate—"used a generalized linear model." The new statistical modeling method published by Pal and his student is said to be 30% more effective in predicting who will be cured of cancer and who will need further treatment.

According to the city, the eligible neighborhoods hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic are Joppa, Five Mile, Tenth Street Historic District, and The Bottom. Up to 20 homes will be able to get funding under the American Rescue Plan Act program.

The 2022 London-based Savills Resilient Cities Index ranks 500 global cities. The Dallas region jumped up 11 spots on the list since 2016, thanks to its many assets and its recovery from the worst of the pandemic.
Dallas' highest ranking on the list is in real estate investment, where it placed No. 3, behind only Los Angeles and New York City.

Capital One's founder and CEO, Rich Fairbank, says his company has faced difficulties and challenges in the last two-plus years—but also found "new ways to adapt and thrive."
Now, nearly a year after saying Capital One would become a "hybrid work company" moving forward, he expects all company buildings and campuses to be open to all associates beginning September 6—with most employees working both in-person and virtually.

Frisco-based InspectIR received the FDA emergency use authorization on Friday for its breathalyzer test, which tests for organic compounds associated with COVID-19 in a person's breath.
