There are so many drones flying our skies that the North Central Texas Council of Governments began an education series two years ago that now is available on its YouTube page. The free series focuses on best practices, safety, and the many uses of drones.

UNT and Dallas-based communications tech company COMSovereign are partnering to develop and launch a new 5G edge-centric infrastructure test platform, funded in part by a grant from the North Central Texas Council of Governments. With the new program, UNT's Dr. Kamesh Namuduri says his team will "be able to expand our focus on wireless connectivity and research into Advanced Air Mobility technologies including UAVs, where UNT is already actively engaged with an expanding network of industry and government partners."

Most anyone who has been commuting to work over the past two years has likely noticed a decrease in traffic.
Brookings Institution noted that metro traffic congestion was cut in half after COVID-19 hit in 2020, attributing it largely to employees working virtually from home, and more flexible work schedules (though government stay-at-home orders figured prominently as well)....

Get ready for worlds to collide: With a plan 10 years in the making, Dallas' new International District will provide a unique home for international businesses of all sizes—along with a new 20-acre central park, international festivals, community gatherings, and a nearby PreK-12 STEAM International Academy being built by the Dallas ISD.
Funded by a public-private partnership, the district is also a testing ground for innovation with a civic smart zone and automated people mover.

A transportation study team is exploring a potential high-speed Dallas-Arlington-Fort Worth rail line along the I-30 corridor. The North Central Texas Council of Governments is holding open house presentations on the project—which could ultimately lead to a bullet train or hyperloop whizzing us between the cities.
