Next Tuesday and Wednesday, startups and investors will gather in Dallas to embark on a first-of-its-kind journey in our city: to connect with innovators, business luminaries, and investors from around the nation and showcase the things that make Dallas’ entrepreneurial landscape fertile.

Arranging Venture Dallas was no simple task, and few know that better than the nine-person host committee. Learn the how the event came together, who’s involved, and how the summit will impact the region moving forward.

Registration / Check-In and Networking

Attendees can check in and start the day by networking with other attendees. A light breakfast will be served before the day’s activities begin.

1:40 – 2:30 p.m.

The growth story of Dallas-based Alkami Technology is being told by Vik Thapar, Stephen Bohanon, and Charlie Plauche, who are all well-versed in the financial industries. Thapar has over twenty years of experience spanning venture capital, private equity, and information technology consulting, and is also a Partner with Cypress Growth Capital. Bohanon oversees Alkami’s product direction, strategy, and sales efforts. Stephen has an extensive financial services background including co-founding Alkami Technology, Inc. Plauche is a Partner at S3 Ventures, an early stage venture capital firm in Austin, TX, with the focus being investing in Texas-based B2B software companies at seed, Series A, and Series B stages.


Lightning Talk – Payments are so hot right now
Bruce Parker from Modo

Bruce Parker is a self-declared “payments geek” and is a visionary and strategist for some of the largest and most innovative payments technology companies. Bruce has the uncanny ability to connect the most diverse payments industry participants, and now has Modo, which granted the patent for COIN®, a company to help others do the same.

Lightning Talk – Esports is Everywhere
Randy Chappel from Hersh Family Investments
3:00 – 3:15 p.m.

Randy Chappel has been a Managing Director for Hersh Family Investments and affiliated entities since 2004. He was also an early investor in esports with Hersh Interactive Group, which invested in the storied esports organization Envy Gaming. HIG has developed a reputation of being a knowledgeable, value-added investor in the industry.


Keynote
Molly Cain, GovCity Group; Ben Lamm, Hypergiant; Bill Nye, Scientist, Comedian, Author, & Inventor
3:15 – 4:15 p.m.

Keynote is a powerhouse of intellect, experience, and innovation as Molly Cain, Ben Lamm, and Bill Nye speak. Cain, an advisor to federal agencies on tech scouting, innovation program development, works closely with federal executives to establish messaging and engagement campaigns. Lamm is a serial technology entrepreneur dedicated to making the impossible possible, and is currently the founder and CEO of Hypergiant. Nye is a scientist and man with a mission: to help foster a scientifically literate society and to help people everywhere understand and appreciate the science that makes our world work.


Closing Remarks
Samantha Colletti from Silicon Valley Bank
4:15 – 4:30 p.m.

Closing remarks will be given by Samantha Colletti of Silicon Valley Bank. With nearly a decade of experience in the financial services and banking industry, Samantha is a huge supporter of the technology and innovation community in DFW. Samantha frequently serves on tech-focused panels, volunteers as a mentor for tech startups, and develops and organizes many events for the investor, entrepreneur, and innovator communities.
