Dallas-based global professional services firm RGP has promoted Rebecca Cottrell to chief legal officer. In an expanded role, Cottrell will continue to lead the company’s legal and corporate governance functions, the company said.
“Rebecca is a trusted leader whose strategic perspective, integrity, and partnership have made a meaningful impact across our business,” RGP CEO Roger Carlile said in a statement. “Her ability to operate at the intersection of business, governance, and leadership makes her exceptionally well suited for this expanded leadership role.”
Since coming to RGP, Cottrell has played a critical role in advising the company in strategic, operational, and governance matters, the company said.
“Leadership is ultimately about stewardship, and at RGP, that means caring for the long-term health of the business, the strength of our culture, and the people who make our success possible,” said Cottrell. “I’m honored to take on this expanded responsibility and to help lead RGP as we continue to evolve, grow, and build for the future.”
As chief legal officer, Cottrell will support strategic alignment in governance, talent, and business priorities as RGP continues to execute its strategy and guide clients in positive transformation.
Cottrell has “deep expertise” in advising organizations on complex legal, governance, and business matters, RGP said, and throughout her career has had a strong track record of combining astute legal judgment with a sensible, business-minded approach to leadership. She has provided valuable advice to executive leadership and the board, supporting the company through strategic, operational, and governance priorities while nurturing collaboration throughout the organization, RGP added.
