On Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026, the Texas Research Alliance (TRA) will host Quantum for the C-Suite at the Park City Club in Dallas, bringing together senior executives, policymakers, technology innovators, researchers, investors and enterprise leaders for an interactive discussion on how quantum computing is poised to transform industries over the coming decade.

The event is one of many strategies TRA is employing to implement its North Texas Quantum Economy Initiative (NTQEI), a collaborative effort to establish North Texas as the nation’s premier hub for applied quantum technologies, commercialization, workforce development and enterprise adoption.

NTQEI focuses on accelerating quantum adoption across North Texas’ key industries, including aerospace and defense, advanced manufacturing, telecommunications and financial services, among others. Rather than simply attracting quantum companies, however, TRA’s strategy centers on deploying quantum technologies into commercial and industrial applications.

Developing Texas’ long-term quantum strategy

The event comes at a pivotal time following the creation of the Texas Quantum Initiative Advisory Committee, established under House Bill 4751 and charged by Gov. Greg Abbott with developing the state’s long-term quantum strategy. Earlier this year, Victor Fishman, Ph.D., executive director of the Texas Research Alliance, was elected chairman of the five-member committee.

“Quantum is rapidly moving from research labs into real-world business applications,” Fishman said. “North Texas has an opportunity to become the nation’s premier region for applied quantum commercialization. This event is designed to bring together the executives who will help shape that future while providing direct access to the leaders driving Texas’ quantum strategy.”

What to expect at Quantum for the C-Suite

The event is designed as a highly interactive executive discussion rather than a series of presentations. Attendance is limited to encourage meaningful dialogue between industry leaders and the organizations advancing quantum technologies, offering unique opportunities for attendees to connect with the experts shaping Texas’ quantum economy.

The discussion will be moderated by Gerry Mecca, adjunct professor at The University of Texas at Dallas and host of the QuanCast podcast, and the program will feature leaders from some of the world’s most recognized quantum computing companies and organizations, including IBM, ORCA Computing and IonQ.

Speakers will explore key quantum technologies topics and strategies, including: the future of Texas’ Quantum Initiative, enterprise applications of quantum computing, quantum readiness for business leaders, workforce development and talent strategies, commercialization opportunities in North Texas, public-private partnerships accelerating innovation and building the North Texas quantum economy. The event is being hosted in partnership with the Dallas Regional Chamber.
