Abstract: The present disclosure relates to the identification of PDK inhibitors and their use in the treatment of diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease and cancer. The invention relates to the development of robust PDK inhibitors that can be used to improve glucose metabolism and correct metabolic dysfunction in vivo. Based on the unique structural features present in the ATP-binding pocket of PDK2, a single functional-group change was made in a known Hsp90 inhibitor that binds to the corresponding pocket of the latter protein from the GHKL family. This approach efficiently converted the Hsp90 inhibitor to a highly specific inhibitor for all PDK isoforms. These final PDK inhibitors of this series robustly augments PDC activity with reduced phosphorylation in tissues.

Law Firm: Kilpatrick Townsend Stockton LLP (14 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 15784714 on 10/16/2017 (442 days app to issue)

Abstract: An injection valve assembly for use in a well, where pressurized gas or fluid from uphole in the well displaces a perforated valve head from a valve seat, allows for fluid flow of the pressurized gas or fluid into the valve head and further downhole in the well toward an electric submersible pump. A compression spring is coiled around a valve stem connected to the valve head, pushing the valve stem and valve head in an uphole direction opposite to the force from pressurized gas or fluid. The compression spring is in a chamber filled with hydraulic fluid, where the hydraulic fluid can pass through a dampening system assembly and a flow restrictor assembly, thereby regulating the speed at which the valve stem and valve head can move relative to the valve seat.

Abstract: A system, device, and method for inspecting the cosmetic and operational features of electronic devices, including computing and telecommunications devices. The cosmetic inspection system includes an image capture unit for capturing the images of the electronic devices, and a user interface for processing the captured images and providing relevant information to the user of the system. Images of the external components such as external casing materials or touch screens of electronic devices are captured and the cosmetic inspection system uses baseline images to make determinations to identify defective components of the electronic devices. Based on these determinations, the system may conclude which, if any, replacement components of the devices are needed to restore the electronic device. In one embodiment, a user of the system may then be provided with information through a user interface about defective components and options for ordering replacement components.

Patent No. 10169993

Inventor(s): Christopher R. Dance (Grenoble, , FR), Tomi Silander (Grenoble, , FR)
Assignee(s): Conduent Business Services, LLC (Dallas, TX)
Law Firm: Fay Sharpe LLP (1 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 15868007 on 01/11/2018 (355 days app to issue)

Abstract: Data characterizing a system is received at an electronic processor. For example, parking event data from parking sensors of a parking facility is received. The electronic processor constructs a current state for the system (e.g. parking occupancy state of the parking facility) at a current time from the received data. State probabilities at a future time are computed (e.g. occupancy state probabilities are computed for the parking facility) using a continuous-time Markov chain model modified by multiplying the time input to the model by a random variable and scaling the state probabilities by an expectation of the random variable. In parking occupancy forecasting, parking guidance information is generated based at least on the computed occupancy state probabilities, and is transmitted to an electronic device other than the electronic processor (e.g. a parking recommendation transmitted to a vehicle navigation device, or a control signal transmitted to a ”lot full” sign).

Abstract: System and method embodiments are provided for implementing Data as a Service (DaaS). The system is implemented using a client side library, on a user device, and a server or proxy server to extract relevant data from relevant data sources, and process the data before returning results to the client. The client sends a user query to the proxy server, which then sends sub-queries and receive responses from multiple data sources in real-time or near real-time. The system also uses a data model that handles varying data reliability or accuracy levels in heterogeneous data sources and indicates the confidence levels in the data provided to a user or client application. The data model assigns different confidence levels for various data to distinguish between high quality data and low quality data. Thus, users are provided with more information from multiple sources without diluting high quality data with low quality data.

Fully substrate-isolated FinFET transistor
Patent No. 10170546

Inventor(s): Nicolas Loubet (Guilderland, NY), Prasanna Khare (Schenectady, NY)
Assignee(s): STMicroelectronics, Inc. (Coppell, TX)
Law Firm: Seed Intellectual Property Law Group LLP (1 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 15873644 on 01/17/2018 (349 days app to issue)

Abstract: Channel-to-substrate leakage in a FinFET device is prevented by inserting an insulating layer between the semiconducting channel and the substrate during fabrication of the device. Similarly, source/drain-to-substrate leakage in a FinFET device is prevented by isolating the source/drain regions from the substrate by inserting an insulating layer between the source/drain regions and the substrate. Forming such an insulating layer isolates the conduction path from the substrate both physically and electrically, thus preventing current leakage. In an array of semiconducting fins made up of a multi-layer stack, the bottom material is removed thus yielding a fin array that is suspended above the silicon surface. A resulting gap underneath the remaining top fin material is then filled with oxide to better support the fins and to isolate the array of fins from the substrate.

Assignee(s): UNASSIGNED
Law Firm: NK Patent Law (7 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 15221107 on 07/27/2016 (888 days app to issue)

Abstract: A secure or insecure communications channel for a secure communications system that carries sensitive user datagrams inside a proprietary or other undisclosed protocol so as to be able to encrypt the entire user datagram, including all header information so that if a malevolent entity were covertly or otherwise receiving said transmission they would be unable to determine the destination addresses of the user datagrams. Further the proprietary or undisclosed protocol is broken up into packets whose packet-to-packet boundaries are hidden so that malevolent entities will not be able to glean any information from the changes in traffic that occur during stimuli designed to provoke an expected response, thereby rendering said malevolent entities unable to determine what actual responses are occurring during real world events.
