Optimized pipe handling system with quick loader arm
Patent No. 10967582

Inventor(s): Chad Abatie (Prosper, TX)
Assignee(s): Gajeske, Inc. (Houston, TX)
Law Firm: Whitaker Chalk Swindle Schwartz PLLC (2 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 16732675 on 01/02/2020 (460 days app to issue)

Abstract: A method is shown for fusing sections of thermoplastic pipe together to construct continuous pipelines. A pipe loader arm is provided which can be attached to the mobile sub-frame of any number of commercially available fusion machines. The pipe loader arm scoops up and loads a new section of thermoplastic pipe to be fused into the fusion machine by feeding the pipe in an axial direction, rather than lifting the new section of pipe with a crane and vertically feeding it into the fusion machine. An exit-end support can be used to gradually lower the growing pipeline to the ground after the fusion step. The method described herein greatly reduces the time and increases the ease in which sections of pipe are fused to grow pipelines, while additionally making the process safer and protecting newly-made pipe joints from rough handling.

Law Firm: No Counsel
Application No., Date, Speed: 15932403 on 02/26/2018 (1135 days app to issue)

Abstract: The present invention is a new apparatus to efficiently reclaim cement from a horizontal warehouse. This new reclaiming apparatus combines a mechanical cement reclaiming machine, a U Reclaimer Utility Device Apparatus, together with a reduced amount of open air slides, cement is pushed by a rotating chain with rakes on said reclaiming machine, cement is further fluidized through a porous media with low pressure air, cement flow is achieved by sloping said air slides to match the fluidized angle of repose of the powdered material. Further, the present invention introduces a conveying system, composed by a cascade of enclosed air slides and elevator machines, to convey the cement from the reclaiming area to the dispatch hopper. The introduction of these components, together with traditional cement stacking methods and dispatch systems, provides for a highly efficient manner of storing and reclaiming material from a horizontal storage facility.

Abstract: A measurement apparatus and method for in-situ quantitative texture measurement of a food snack. The apparatus includes an acoustic capturing device and a data processing unit. The physical interaction in the mouth with saliva, when a human being eats/drinks a food snack, sends pressure waves that propagate through the ear bone and produce an acoustic signal. The acoustic capturing device records and forwards the signal to a data processing unit. The data processing unit further comprises a digital signal processing module that smoothens, transforms and filters the received acoustic signal. A statistical processing module further filters the acoustic signal from the data processing unit and generates a quantitative acoustic model for texture attributes such as hardness and fracturability. The quantitative model is correlated with a qualitative texture measurement from a descriptive expert panel. Another method includes a food snack fingerprinting using an in-situ quantitative food property measurement.

Abstract: An integrated circuit is provided with a bandgap voltage reference circuit having a bandgap reference voltage output. A bandgap failure detection circuit is coupled to the bandgap reference voltage output. The bandgap failure detection forms a model value of the reference voltage from a first time, compares a present value of the reference voltage at a second time to the model value; and asserts a bandgap fail signal to indicate when the present value is less than the model value by a threshold value. The integrated circuit is reset by the bandgap fail signal. The detection circuit may be operated from a failsafe voltage domain that also allows a critical circuit to complete a pending operation during a reset.
