Technology to identify Candida auris
Patent No. 10662405

Inventor(s): Wolfram Siede (Benbrook, TX)
Assignee(s): Santa Fe BioLabs LLC (Fort Worth, TX)
Law Firm: D. Tiller Law PLLC (1 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 16133815 on 09/18/2018 (616 days app to issue)

Abstract: A system for identifying Candida auris is disclosed. The system has two aspects. The first is a positive selection of C. auris based on C. auris”s distinctive resistance to quaternary ammonium compounds (especially at elevated incubation temperatures). The second is a negative selection of C. auris based on C. auris”s distinctive sensitive to tert-Butyl-hydroperoxide. C. auris can be identified in a sample through use of a positive-selection culture medium, which fosters C. auris colony growth while suppressing growth of other yeasts. The isolate can be confirmed as C. auris through use of a negative-selection culture medium, which suppresses C. auris colony growth while permitting growth of other yeasts.

Memory device with channel discharge before program-verify based on data state and sub-block position
Patent No. 10665299

Inventor(s): Ching-Huang Lu (Fremont, CA), Hong-Yan Chen (San Jose, CA)
Assignee(s): SanDisk Technologies LLC (Addison, TX)
Law Firm: Vierra Magen Marcus LLP (2 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 16385430 on 04/16/2019 (406 days app to issue)

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for reducing an injection type of read disturb in a memory device. During a program loop, when NAND strings in a selected sub-block are programmed, a pre-verify voltage pulse is applied to a selected word line and to a select gate transistor to discharge the drain-side channel in NAND strings of unselected sub-blocks. The duration of the pulse can vary for the different unselected sub-blocks and can be based on a sub-block programming order. In another aspect, the duration is higher for initial program loops in a program operation, when lower data states are being verified, and then decreases to a lower level for subsequent program loops when higher data states are being verified.

Law Firm: Vierra Magen Marcus LLP (2 non-local offices)

Abstract: Techniques are provided for optimizing a program operation in a memory device to compensate for program speed variations due to block oxide thinning. In one approach, during a program operation, a program voltage which indicates program speed is acquired from sub-blocks with the highest and lowest program speeds. An initial program voltage for intermediate sub-blocks can be determined based on the acquired program voltages and the positions of the intermediate sub-blocks. The technique can accommodate a loss of one or both acquired program voltages if the programming is interrupted. In another approach, a program voltage which indicates program speed is acquired from one sub-block, and for a later-programmed sub-block, an appropriate offset is located from a table and summed with the acquired program voltage to determine an optimum initial program voltage.

Memory device with discharge voltage pulse to reduce injection type of program disturb
Patent No. 10665306

Inventor(s): Henry Chin (Fremont, CA), Hong-Yan Chen (San Jose, CA)
Assignee(s): SanDisk Technologies LLC (Addison, TX)
Law Firm: Vierra Magen Marcus LLP (2 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 16377421 on 04/08/2019 (414 days app to issue)

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for reducing an injection type of program disturb in a memory device. In one aspect, a discharge operation is performed at the start of a program loop. This operation discharges residue electrons from the channel region on the source side of the selected word line, WLn, to the channel region on the drain side of WLn. As a result, in a subsequent channel pre-charge operation, the residue electrons can be more easily removed from the channel. The discharge operation involves applying a voltage pulse to WLn and a first set of drain-side word lines which is adjacent to WLn. The remaining unselected word lines may be held at ground during the voltage pulse.

Abstract: Techniques are described for detecting a short circuit between a word line and a source line in a memory device, and to a method for recovering from such a short circuit. In one aspect, the short circuit is detected in a program operation when a selected word line completes programming after an unusually low number of program loops. A further check is performed to confirm that there is a short circuit. The short circuited word line is then erased and a recovery read is performed for previously-programmed word lines. In another aspect, a short circuit is detected in a read operation.

In-situ OAM trace type extension with cascade bitmap and segment in-situ OAM
Patent No. 10666506

Inventor(s): Haoyu Song (San Jose, CA), Tianran Zhou (Beijing, , CN)
Assignee(s): Futurewei Technologies, Inc. (Plano, TX)
Law Firm: Vierra Magen Marcus LLP (2 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 15975459 on 05/09/2018 (748 days app to issue)

Abstract: The disclosure relates to technology for sending network management information in a network. A source edge node modifies data packets by encapsulating an operations, administration and maintenance (OAM) header in a select number of the data packets. The OAM header includes a data type bitmap and a node data list. A valid node bitmap is inserted into the OAM header prior to the node data list, and each bit in the valid node bitmap identifies whether one or more nodes in the network add data to the OAM header. A valid data bitmap is then added into the OAM header for each of the one or more nodes identified as adding data to the OAM header. The valid data bitmap indicates types of data items available at the node. Subsequently, the edge node issues the select data packets to the one or more nodes identified in the OAM header.

After a group of wells has been formed on the second surface of the plate, a layer of light-absorbing material is applied on the second surface of the plate. Next, the wells are partially filled with a functional material. The plate is then irradiated with a pulse of light to heat the light-absorbing material between the bottom of the well and the functional material. This heats the gas in the ullage between the light absorbing material and the functional material to increase the pressure in gas to expel the functional material from the wells onto a receiving substrate.
