Five app visionaries will showcase their ideas for up to $30,000 in services at the annual seed accelerator competition, CodeLaunch.
Since 2013, Code Authority Custom Software has hosted this competition as a way for creators to receive seed support. Each year, the competition has become fiercer, with 357 entries applying this year.
Through a series of applications and presentations, five finalists were selected for CodeLaunch’s Pitch Day event.
This year’s finalists include:
CHDR — Cole Oliver of Dallas
Click Ditto — Daen Hudspeth of Prosper
Cortex — Sky McClure of Denton
HoneyComb— D’Arcy Young of Dallas
EnrichHER– Roshawanna Novellus of Atlanta, Georgia
Finalists will pitch their ideas to five judges — Brian Dick, co-founder of Launch Pad City, Chuck McCoy, executive director of North Texas Angel Network, Maher Maso, Mayor of Frisco, Max Von Brand, co-founder of last year’s CodeLaunch Pitch Day winner, ParkUpFront, and Rex Kurzius, founder and CEO of Asset Panda — to determine awards such as software design and development resources. Marty Turco, director of the Dallas Stars corporate development and former Dallas Stars goaltender, will emcee the event.
There are several available awards including Most Creative, Most Financial Potential, Best Pitch, and an overall winner.
The event begins 3 p.m. Aug. 9 at the Dr Pepper Arena in Frisco. To attend the event, tickets are available at codelaunch.com/PitchDay/Index.
