Whether he's buying a pro pickleball team or disrupting big pharma with his cost-plus drug company, Mark Cuban says he's a "ready, fire, aim" businessman. So he surrounds himself with "ready, aim, fire" perfectionists to keep him from "screwing everything up." That's just one insight the billionaire shared in a fireside chat with Backstage Capital founder Arlan Hamilton at the Venture Dallas conference last week. “There's always going to be somebody smarter, there's always going to be somebody faster, better," Cuban added. "I just try to work a little harder.”

Bank of America Invests $900K to Support North Texas Nonprofits

Bank of America announced that it has invested nearly $900,000 to support nonprofits in North Texas that focus on community needs such as affordable housing, community revitalization, small business, and the arts.

The funds should help nonprofits already beleaguered by the COVID-19 pandemic to overcome the effects of inflation.

“Dallas nonprofits dedicate their time and energy to solve the complex societal challenges, build up our neighbors in need, and promote economic advancement,” Jennifer Chandler, Bank of America Dallas president, said in a statement....

Konsta-Gdoutos is exploring a way to turn one of the world's biggest polluters—concrete, which accounts for at least 8% of global energy-related CO2 emissions—into a source of clean, renewable energy. “We will pioneer TE-CO2NCRETE, a thermoelectric carbon-neutral concrete, that will exhibit a high carbon dioxide uptake potential and storage capacity,” Konsta-Gdoutos said in a statement. “Engineering the nanostructure of concrete also will allow the material to capture thermal energy from the surroundings and convert it into usable electrical energy, leading to the development of a novel technology for renewable electricity and higher efficiency power source.”

Two DFW Companies Named Primary Suppliers for Virgin Galactic Spaceships

Fort Worth-based Bell Textron and Red Oak's Qarbon Aerospace will manufacture major subassemblies for Virgin Galactic's next-generation Delta class spaceships. The production-model vehicles are designed to fly weekly with six passengers per ship, with production slated to begin next year.  “Bell and Qarbon Aerospace are established partners who bring know-how, ideas, and resources that will enable us to produce up to six new Delta class ships per year," said Virgin Galactic CEO Michael Colglazier.
