Communications platform for linking rules with independently defined rewards
Patent No. 11481794

Inventor(s): Dan D. Hoffman (Flower Mound, TX), David R. Jenness (Flower Mound, TX), Erika D. Lambert (Flower Mound, TX), James L. Rockett, Jr. (Carrollton, TX), Randy M. Whelan (Coppell, TX), Robert M. Beaty (Flower Mound, TX)

Law Firm: Kirton McConkie (1 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 17028750 on 09/22/2020 (763 days app to issue)

Abstract: As part of implementing a recognition and reward system, a communications platform can employ a unique set of data structures, APIs and a rules engine that abstract the definition of rewards from the definition of rules for determining when the rewards should be made available. Accordingly, boosters may interface directly with the communications platform to offer rewards to participants but need not be aware of or involved in the process of defining the rules that will be used to distribute the rewards. Likewise, administrators may interface directly with the communications platform to define rules for making rewards available without needing to be aware of the rewards themselves. In this way, a communications platform can integrate boosters and their rewards into a recognition and rewards system without requiring tight coupling between the rules for determining when rewards should be made available and the rewards themselves.

Per pin Vref for data receivers in non-volatile memory system
Patent No. 11482262

Inventor(s): Anil Pai (San Jose, CA), Jang Woo Lee (Seongnam-si, , KR), Srinivas Rajendra (Milpitas, CA), Venkatesh Ramachandra (San Jose, CA)
Assignee(s): SanDisk Technologies LLC (Addison, TX)
Law Firm: Vierra Magen Marcus LLP (2 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 17348904 on 06/16/2021 (496 days app to issue)

Abstract: Technology is disclosed herein for per pin internal reference voltage generation for data receivers in non-volatile memory systems. A receiving circuit may have an on-die voltage generator that has inputs to receive a separate voltage magnitude select signal for each data receiver on the receiving circuit. The on-die voltage generator provides a separate reference voltage for each data receiver. This allows the reference voltage for each data receiver to be calibrated separately. A separate reference voltage for each data receiver compensates for variations between data paths, and provides for a wider data valid window than if the same reference voltage were used for all data receivers. Generating the different reference voltages on-die can potentially require a large area, as well as consume considerable power and/or current. A voltage divider and multiplexers may provide the different reference voltages, which saves space and is power and current efficient.

Abstract: Technology for error correcting data stored in memory dies is disclosed. Codewords, which may contain data bits and parity bits, are stored on a memory die. The memory die is bonded to a control die through bond pads that allow communication between the memory die and the control die. The codewords are decoded at the control die based on the parity bits. If the control die successfully decodes a codeword, the control die may send the data bits but not the parity bits to a memory controller. By not sending the parity bits to the memory controller, substantial bandwidth is saved. Also, substantial power may be saved. For example, the interface between the control die and the memory controller could be a high speed interface.

Abstract: Energy bands of a thin film containing molecular clusters are tuned by controlling the size and the charge of the clusters during thin film deposition. Using atomic layer deposition, an ionic cluster film is formed in the gate region of a nanometer-scale transistor to adjust the threshold voltage, and a neutral cluster film is formed in the source and drain regions to adjust contact resistance. A work function semiconductor material such as a silver bromide or a lanthanum oxide is deposited so as to include clusters of different sizes such as dimers, trimers, and tetramers, formed from isolated monomers. A type of Atomic Layer Deposition system is used to deposit on semiconductor wafers molecular clusters to form thin film junctions having selected energy gaps. A beam of ions contains different ionic clusters which are then selected for deposition by passing the beam through a filter in which different apertures select clusters based on size and orientation.
