Which Are the ‘Coolest’ Tech Employers in DFW? DevMountain Has Made Its Picks

The coding school interviewed current and past bootcamp students and looked at reviews on Glassdoor.com to compile its top 10 list. 

North Texas has its share of dynamic technology companies and a new list by DevMountain reveals the top 10 “coolest” employers in the region.

DevMountain is a coding school for entrepreneurs, designers, and programmers with locations in Dallas, Utah, and Arizona.

The coding school interviewed current and past bootcamp students and looked at reviews on Glassdoor.com to compile its list. 

“At DevMountain, we know people don’t have to be in Silicon Valley or New York to build great tech careers,” said Tyler Richards, founder and vice president of DevMountain, in a statement. “That’s why we’re so pleased to showcase tech companies doing amazing things across the U.S.”

Here are the top Dallas area companies on the list:

Alkali
A free catered lunch, free stock options, and full benefits are just a few of the perks for working at this Plano-based insurance broker. The company has 275 employees.

Blue Star Sports
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones backs this Frisco-based company, which provides software solutions to youth sports organizations. The company’s employees combine their love of sports and technology in a high-energy workplace.

Dialexa
This Dallas-based research and design firm has a nearly perfect rating on Glassdoor. Whether it’s free snacks or multiple mounted computer screens at your desk, Dialexa takes care of its employees and satisfies their intellectual curiosity.

Lifeblue
This McKinney-based digital design firm launched websites for Klyde Warren Park and the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. Employees there have earned a Webby Award for their website designs and are empowered to end hunger and poverty through coding.

NectarOM
The Dallas-based omnichannel specialist employs marketers, data scientists, and technologists who can hyper personalize messages and content for brands. The tight-knit group provides work-life balance and team outings.

Oculus
Employees work on cutting-edge virtual reality technology with that distinct Facebook culture at this Dallas-based company. Oculus offers free meals, benefits, parties, and a family-friendly workplace. The company started from a Kickstarter campaign, but has become part of Mark Zuckerberg’s empire.

ParkHub
This Dallas startup aims to solve the parking problem through an app. The company is dog friendly and has a great working atmosphere. It works with the Dallas Cowboys, TicketMaster, and Live Nation, among others. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has invested in this company, too.

rewardStyle
This global company got its start in Dallas with the idea that social influencers could earn money for driving traffic to fashion retailers. That idea has led to fast growth with 200 employees in offices in Dallas, London, Shanghai, and Sao Paulo, Brazil. Named one of the “World’s 50 Most Innovative” companies by Fast Company, rewardStyle hires employees who embody that spirit.

The Marketing Arm
This company has done advertising campaigns for American Airlines, Harley-Davidson, and PepsiCo. It’s also a fun place to work where they take any excuse to have a party. It’s been named a “Best Places to Work” by WorkplaceDynamics.

Topgolf
Combine the fun of a golf driving range with video games and a full restaurant and bar and you get Topgolf. The employees are having fun, too, with plenty of entertainment, wine, and games in the office. The Dallas-based company has locations around the world and has racked up multiple awards for being a “Best Place to Work.”
