Dallas-Fort Worth had its first 100-degree day of the summer this week, making the idea of a cold plunge seem like a distant dream. But that dream—and much more—will be a reality when WorldSprings opens this Friday at Grandscape in The Colony.
We first told you in March about WorldSprings and its plan to let you “Experience the world, one soak at a time.” Now it’s about to welcome its first guests, offering 46 outdoor soaking pools, eight saunas, a 12-room, “first-class” spa facility, barrel saunas, and The Springs Kitchen and Bar. And oh yes—cold plunges. All in a sprawling nine-acre site at 3240 Plano Parkway.
Running hot and cold, all year long
The “social and recreational wellness” destination features mineral soaking pools inspired by the world’s most famous spas and natural springs—from Jordan’s Dead Sea to Iceland’s Blue Lagoon to Mexico’s Grutas Tolantongo to the temples of Banjar in Bali. The pools are “meticulously formulated with minerals” and range from hot to cold temperatures “in order to bring the restorative soaking benefits all to one place.”
And those hot and cold temperatures? They’ll be available all year long at the year-round destination.
WorldSprings joins a wide range of experiential offerings at Grandscape, a 433-acre mixed-use development featuring shopping, restaurants, and immersive entertainment venues—from Puttery to Fireside Surf to the coming Cosm “shared reality” experience to Sixes Social Cricket, PopStroke and much more.
Promoting ‘wellness and community improvement’
“After years of dedicated planning and preparation, we’re overjoyed to open our doors and contribute to the wellness and community improvement of the vibrant DFW area,” WorldSprings Dallas GM Amelia Wohrle said in a statement. “Our vision is to create a welcoming space where everyone can focus on their wellness and come together to build a stronger sense of community spirit.”
Designed by Bentonville, Arkansas-based architectural and engineering solutions firm HFA, WorldSprings is the second “water retreat” from investment firm Off Road Capital after its sister site, Iron Mountain Hot Springs in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.
WorldSprings CEO Chris Barrett said the new venture “represents not only a new chapter for our company but also a testament to our commitment to offering exceptional hospitality centered around making our guests feel better. We look forward to sharing the magic of WorldSprings with the local community.”
How visits will work
Visitors to WorldSprings will be greeted in a check-in area, where they can browse a “highly curated retail section” and begin their experience. The Spa and Wellness Center will offer “world-class body treatments,” facials, and athletic recovery for the wellness-minded.
Once they’re checked in, guests will head for the locker room, which will serve as their “home base.” The neighboring Springs Kitchen & Bar will be available for dining, while outside a total of 46 pools will soak people in temperatures from 45-degree cold plunge pools to 104-degree bodies of water.
VIP cabanas and ‘water experiences’
VIP cabanas will be available for rent. Other “water experiences” include:
- The freshwater Globe Pool, created for all ages
- The Dead Sea pool, a saline-enriched pool for adults 18 and over only
- Four “minerally dense” destination areas formulated to replicate the soaking experience of the Americas, Europe, Asia, and South Pacific regions of the world. These pool areas also available for adults 18 and over only.
