Downtown Dallas' Klyde Warren Park is slated to get a $155 million expansion, with 1.7 new acres extending the deck park over Woodall Rodgers Freeway via a new build-out between St. Paul and Akard. According to the Dallas Morning News, the park's leaders aim to re-bid the project—which was delayed by the pandemic—in 2025 and open the new addition by end of 2028.

"Round the Bend," a textile banner of abstract geometric forms, was created by artist Rachel Hayes. It will be on display April 19-30 as part of the park's celebration of Dallas Arts Month. Inspired by "cascading color fields and landscapes," it shimmers in sunlight and ripples in wind—and you're invited to walk along it.

Commercial real estate giant CBRE Group—which moved its headquarters from California to Uptown Dallas in 2020—plans to move its HQ just a couple blocks away to the Park District complex, where it will have striking views of Klyde Warren Park below and the downtown Dallas skyline just to the south.
That's according to a report by Steve Brown in the Dallas Morning News, who says CBRE will be leasing two and a half floors of office space totaling 67,000 square feet that were originally snapped up by its coworking business, Hana, in 2019.

Klyde Warren Park is the jewel in the crown of downtown Dallas, and now it's gotten some extra sparkle. The park has been ranked No. 5 of all city parks in the U.S. in USA Today's 10Best Readers' Choice list for 2023. "Perched atop a sunken freeway, this nationally acclaimed 5-acre oasis is just one of the examples of what makes Dallas' downtown area so dynamic," USA Today writes.

The downtown Dallas skyline and Klyde Warren Park offer striking views. And a new 30-story high-rise planned by Dallas-based developer KDC is set to take stunning advantage of them.
KDC's $200 million Parkside Uptown is slated for a mid-year groundbreaking, according to state filings cited by the Dallas Morning News. To be located at the corner of N. Harwood Street and Woodall Rodgers Freeway across from the park, the podium-style building is designed to be "an exceedingly modern workplace," with ground-floor retail and restaurants. It could eventually be joined by a phase two building next door with similarly striking architecture.

Carpenter Park, a 5.7-acre space that runs along I-345 near Deep Ellum on the eastern edge of downtown "will distinguish our center city for decades to come," said the chairman of Parks for Downtown Dallas when construction kicked off in 2020. The vision is now a reality.
