Soccer fans looking for a place to watch the World Cup finals between France and Croatia on Sunday have the option to join a huge outdoor party courtesy of Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages. The FIFA World Cup Finals Watch Party presented by Coca-Cola will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Klyde Warren Park.
The event is being billed by Coca-Cola as the biggest World Cup final watch party in Dallas and Greg Artkop, director of communications, Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages, told Dallas Innovates up to 3,000 people are expected to attend.
“Dallas is our home town and we’re pleased to bring the most popular game in the world to Klyde Warren Park.”
He said the event is the only official FIFA World Cup watching party in Dallas and that Coca-Cola is an official sponsor of FIFA, the governing body of the World Cup and international soccer. Along with the Dallas event, Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages is hosting similar events in Austin, Houston, El Paso, and Oklahoma.
“Dallas is our hometown and we’re pleased to bring the most popular game in the world to Klyde Warren Park,” Artkop said.
The World Cup finals begins at 10 a.m. and the full event hosted by Coke will include a DJ, tailgate games, food trucks, a surprise soccer guest, and a giant screen TV for watching the game. The first 1,000 attendees will receive a ticket for free tacos from Abe’s Flavor Flave, and anyone bringing a receipt for a Powerade purchase from Kroger, Fiesta, or El Rio Grande markets will have access to a covered VIP area with free Coca-Cola beverages, food, and Powerade prizes.
All attendees will receive complimentary Powerade and Coca-Cola samples along with soccer giveaways.
