Beating out other big-name contenders like Amazon in the bidding battles, CVS Health is set to acquire Dallas’ Signify Health.
The Rhode Island-based company behind the national chain of pharmacies has inked an agreement to acquire the local tech-enabled home health services firm for $30.50 per share—a deal valued at around $8 billion.

North Texas Giving Day lasts more than a day—its 14th annual event will kick off September 1 and run through September 22. To get both nonprofits and North Texans ready for it, the Communities Foundation of Texas is partnering with software company Mightycause for a new fundraising platform this year.
“We want to continue to grow the spirit of giving by engaging and activating more donors as each individual gift, no matter the size, helps the collective,” says CFT Senior VP Monica Christopher.

The Dallas region added nearly 3,800 new tech job postings last month, bringing its total postings to around 18,600 and ranking it No. 3 among metro areas with the highest amount of job openings in the sector, according to CompTIA. Dallas has held the No. 3 spot since August 2021.

Created by Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos, the Bezos Academy has built a network of eight tuition-free preschools in underserved communities in Washington state. Now the first two Bezos Academies outside Washington are coming to Dallas College campuses in Oak Cliff and Lancaster.
Admissions will be open to families earning up to 400% of the federal poverty level with children ages 3 or 4.

On Wednesday, Amazon announced findings from its 2021 U.S. Economic Impact Report, sharing a by-the-numbers look at its U.S. investments.
With its recently opened fulfillment center in Forney, Amazon now has more than 30 operations facilities across Dallas-Fort Worth—making North Texas its biggest market in the state. The company now has 37,000 direct employees in DFW alone.
