A Rockwall 7-year-old could be the next kid-entrepreneur of the year — he just needs your votes.
Kaden Newton is one of 10 finalists in the Barbara’s Bakery: Kid-trepreneur contest that carries with it a top prize of $10,000. Five runners up will get $500 plus a case of Barbara’s brand food items.
KDFW/Fox 4 reported that Kaden and his mother, Dianna Newton, got their start by collecting food donations through Amazon’s Gift Registry and then created a nonprofit called Mac & Cheese and Pancakes.
THE KID-TREPRENEUR WINNER WILL BE BASED ON PUBLIC VOTE
“When he was 4, he came to my husband and I and said, ‘I want to create a company to feed the poor, and we were shocked,” Dianna Newtown told Fox 4.
She said Kaden came up with the idea of donating kid-friendly foods such as peanut butter, cereal, macaroni and cheese, and pancakes.
People who want to support Kaden’s efforts can go here to vote. Voting ends April 14.
