Oklahoma City-based Paycom Software Inc. announced Wednesday that it will relocate its Texas operations center to Grapevine.

It will occupy a building to be constructed on 14 acres of city property across from Kubota’s North American headquarters.

Paycom said it will start with a new, single building, but expects to expand to several hundred employees before eventually expanding its footprint to accommodate roughly 1,000 positions.

The company plans to consolidate some of its smaller operations at the location as it continues to expand its presence in Texas. According to its website, Paycom has North Texas offices in Lewisville and Fort Worth.

“From its inception, Paycom has had deep roots in the great state of Texas, and expanding our presence here was the next logical step.”

“From its inception, Paycom has had deep roots in the great state of Texas, and expanding our presence here was the next logical step,” Paycom’s founder and CEO Chad Richison said in a release.

Construction on the new center will begin in 2019 after design and site planning is completed this summer. Occupancy is planned for 2020.

Paycom is a leader in payroll and HR technology with a cloud-based software solution that is based on a core system of records maintained in a single database for all human capital management functions. Its platform provides the functionality that businesses need to manage the complete employment life cycle, from recruitment to retirement, according to Paycom.

PAYCOM SAYS GRAPEVINE IS AN IDEAL FIT

The company said that Grapevine was an ideal location for the facility. Grapevine recently added the Kubota North American headquarters to the city, which benefits from its proximity to Dallas Fort Worth International Airport and its historic, tourist-friendly reputation.

“Grapevine’s central location and business-friendly policies have helped add another successful project to the long history of succesful locations,” Grapevine Economic Development Director Bob Farley said in the release.

Grapevine is the home of the Gaylord Texan Resort and the Great Wolf Lodge, as well as numerous large industrial properties.

The company has received numerous honors in recent years, including ranking second on Fortune magazine’s 2017 100 Fastest-Growing Companies list of domestic and foreign publicly trade companies. It was in the top five of Forbes’ Fast Tech 24 list in 2017.
