Plano-based hospitality tech company OpenKey has teamed up with Worldhotels to roll out new smart phone technology.
The agreement with the Frankfurt, Germany-based services provider to independent upscale hotels worldwide, boosts OpenKey’s reach from eight countries on four continents, to 350 hotels in 50 countries on six continents.
Guests staying at Worldhotels affiliates will now be able to use features such as such as keyless entry, remote check-in, and streamlined booking services with the OpenKey platform.
“This partnership serves as the hotel group’s continued effort to seek and implement technological advancements that are becoming more prevalent in the hospitality industry,” OpenKey CEO T.J. Person said in a release.
Launched in 2014, OpenKey works with hotel owners and managers to provide a streamlined mobile key experience to guests, making access to their rooms easier. The company’s mobile key app is available on iOS and Android systems.
Last October, the Plano startup raised an $8 million Series A funding round led by the Dallas-based Ashford Group of Companies.
Worldhotels is part of Orlando, Florida-based Associated Luxury Hotels, and offers a variety of services to its network of independent upscale hotels. Worldhotels members can take advantage of the latest industry technology, as well as global network affiliation, revenue management assistance, an international sales force, online marketing, and loyalty programs.
Worldhotels loyalty program, Peakpoints, is aligned with more than 20 frequent flyer programs.
