Nonprofit Bonton Farms Names Thomson Reuters Exec Gabrielle Madison as Its First President

Madison has been director of community relations for Thomson Reuters since 2015, developing community engagement strategies and overseeing community outreach programs. Now she'll be laser-focused on one mission in particular: Bonton Farms, a nonprofit that's working to cultivate change in South Dallas by operating a farmers market, two fully functioning farms, and a café and coffee house.

"Both [CEO Daron Babcock] and I believe that Bonton Farms can be the change the world needs, and it’s my greatest honor to partner with him to continue bringing that vision to life," Madison said.

Gabrielle Madison, the director of community relations for Thomson Reuters since 2015, left the company after 11 years this week to become the first-ever president of Bonton Farms—a nonprofit in South Dallas that operates a farmers market, two fully functioning farms, and a café and coffee house.

Bonton Farms pursues a stated goal of transforming the community around it by creating jobs and volunteer opportunities, while offering healthy, organic food options for Dallas’ underserved Bonton neighborhood.

“This is a freeing of Bonton Farms to allow it to become something much more than it could be with just me,” CEO Daron Babcock told the Dallas Morning News.

“What started as just an interest in this South Dallas nonprofit (and a friendship in CEO Daron Babcock) has grown into a passion that lives deep in my bones and holds a piece of my heart,” Madison wrote in a LinkedIn post.

“The work Daron and the team have invested into this community, mission and model is transformational,” Madison added. “Both Daron and I believe that Bonton Farms can be the change the world needs, and it’s my greatest honor to partner with him to continue bringing that vision to life.”
