DizziBrands currently offers its products at hundreds of restaurants, bars, hotels, and more throughout Dallas-Fort Worth and the rest of Texas, but a new North Dallas taste kitchen marks its first adults-only retail location.
The Dallas-based startup is the brainchild of David Taylor, a former restaurateur and Dallas native, and Tim Summers, a party planner and Chicago transplant.
“After discovering how to deliciously marry two of our favorite products on earth, ice cream and alcohol, a star was born,” Taylor, DizziBrands’ CEO, told Dallas Innovates.
The boozy recipes have been worked on for over three years and are currently served at popular Dallas spots like Katy Trail Ice House, Happiest Hour, the Farmers Market, and Bomb Factory as well as in Austin, New Braunfels, and South Padre Island. Some lucky people might even spot the DizziBrands food truck at an event.
“We only opened our retail taste kitchen in North Dallas because the demand from our Farmers Market location and all of the hotels, restaurants, and bars has been so incredible,” Taylor says.
DizziBrands offers alcohol-infused desserts of all kinds, including ice cream, sorbets, cupcakes, gummies, and more. For those who visit the taste kitchen, make sure to have someone to drive you home. The sweets are infused with 10 to 17 percent ABV (alcohol by volume).
“We were kind of the first ones to do what we’re doing,” Tim Summers, DizziBrands’ co-founder and chief revenue officer, told the Dallas Observer. “We’ve got the highest ABV that we know of. It was important for us to break into the market as soon as we could, so we could beat our competitors to the punch.”
After DizziBrands received its liquor license last year, the co-founders decided to take their company to the next level.
DizziBrands plans on hosting an official grand opening event in September, but excited customers don’t have to wait until then—the store is already open for business. By this time next year, DizziBrands hopes to have even more locations open across Texas.
