Abstract: A photo acoustic non-destructive measurement apparatus and method for quantitatively measuring texture of a food snack is disclosed. The apparatus includes a laser generating tool, an acoustic capturing device, and a data processing unit. The laser generating tool directs a laser towards a food snack placed on a surface and creates pressure waves that propagate through the air and produce an acoustic signal. The acoustic capturing device records and forwards the signal to a data processing unit. The data processing unit further comprises a digital signal processing module that processes the received acoustic signal. A statistical processing module further filters the acoustic signal from the data processing unit and generates a quantitative acoustic model for texture attributes such as hardness and fracturability. The quantitative model is correlated with a qualitative texture measurement from a descriptive expert panel. Texture of food snacks are quantitatively measured with the quantitative acoustic model.

Word line dependent pass voltages in non-volatile memory
Patent No. 10049758

Law Firm: Vierra Magen Marcus LLP (2 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 15204257 on 07/07/2016 (768 days app to issue)
Abstract: Sensing in non-volatile memory is performed using bias conditions that are dependent on the position of a selected memory cell within a group of non-volatile memory cells. During sensing, a selected memory cell receives a reference voltage while the remaining memory cells receive a read or verify pass voltage. For at least a subset of the unselected memory cells, the pass voltage that is applied is dependent upon the position of the selected memory cell in the group. As programming progresses from a memory cell at a first end of a NAND string toward a memory cell at a second end of the NAND string, for example, the pass voltage for at least a subset of the unselected memory cells that have already been subjected to programming may be increased. This technique may reduce the effects of an increased channel resistance that occurs as more memory cells are programmed.

Law Firm: Patent Capital Group (Local + 6 other metros)
Application No., Date, Speed: 14495692 on 09/24/2014 (1420 days app to issue)
Abstract: In an example, there is disclosed a security architecture for enhanced, non-invasive whitelisting of executable objects. When an executable object tries to perform an action, a security engine seamlessly intercepts the action and determines whether the action is whitelisted, blacklisted, or graylisted, assigning the action a corresponding security score. Whitelisted actions may be allowed, blacklisted actions may be disallowed, and graylisted actions may require additional verification from a user. Because the score is assigned to the combination of the executable object and the action, false positives may be avoided, such as those that may occur when an executable object is prefetched but has not yet tried to perform any useful work.

Abstract: A method pairs a mobile communications device card with a mobile device responsive to an actuation of the mobile device. The mobile communications device card determines if the mobile device has Bearer Independent Protocol (BIP) capability responsive to a downloaded mobile device profile. An over-the-air inquiry to a network providing wireless services to the mobile device requests an approval of an association of the mobile communications device card with the mobile device if the mobile device has BIP capability. The mobile communications device card determines if the mobile device profile is associated with a same service provider that is identified by the mobile communications device card responsive to a determination the mobile device does not have BIP capability or responsive to determining that a first identifier associated with a mobile device and a second identifier associated with the mobile communications device card do not match. The mobile communications device card disables operation of a user interface associated with the mobile device responsive to a determination that the mobile device is not associated with the same service provider as the mobile communications device card.

Abstract: A method implemented in a parent controller including receiving a request to compute a shortest end-to-end (E2E) path from source to destination through network domains managed by child controllers, receiving path segments and costs computed by the child controllers, wherein the path segments identify in-edge nodes, out-edge nodes, and inter-domain links, generating a candidate list using the path segments and costs received from the child controllers, constructing a shortest path tree (SPT) from the source to the destination through the network domains by repeatedly removing one of the out-edge nodes corresponding to the path segment in the candidate list having a lowest cost and adding the one of the out-edge nodes to the SPT until the destination is reached, determining the shortest E2E path based on the SPT, and transmitting tunnel creation messages to the child controllers to create a tunnel along the shortest E2E path.

High dynamic range and global shutter image sensor pixels having charge overflow signal detecting structures
Patent No. 10051214
Inventor(s): Jaroslav Hynecek (Allen, TX)
Assignee(s): SEMICONDUCTOR COMPONENTS INDUSTRIES, LLC (Phoenix, AZ)
Law Firm: Treyz Law Group, P.C. (3 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 15618899 on 06/09/2017 (431 days app to issue)
Abstract: An image sensor may include an array of image sensor pixels. Each pixel may have a photodiode, a charge storage region, and a charge overflow circuit. The charge storage region may be used to operate the image sensor array in global shutter mode. During high light level illumination, the charge overflow circuit may divert charge away from the photodiode such that only a predetermined portion of the accumulated charge remains in the photodiode. During low light level illumination all of the accumulated charge may be stored in the pixel photodiode. The charge overflow circuit may include a transistor and a resistor or capacitor. By implementing a charge overflow circuit, the size of the charge storage region may be reduced while still preserving the high dynamic range and low noise of the image sensor during all light illumination conditions.

Facilitation of channel selection within a wireless network
Patent No. 10051608
Inventor(s): Jerome Hetrick (Flower Mound, TX)
Assignee(s): ATT Intellectual Property I, L.P. (Atlanta, GA), ATT Mobility II LLC (Atlanta, GA)
Law Firm: Amin, Turocy Watson, LLP (2 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 14937251 on 11/10/2015 (1008 days app to issue)
Abstract: A more efficient network can be achieved using channel allocation strategies within a wireless network. A network device can receive several data points from a mobile device including resource request data, access condition data, and location data. Once the network device has received the aforementioned data points, the network device can identify channels that are conducive to a heightened quality of service for a resource being requested based on a signal attenuation associated with the channel. The network device can then facilitate a channel selection in response to an assessment of the data points and identifying a channel for the resource.

Channel allocation system for protected service areas
Patent No. 10051632
Inventor(s): Neil Keon (Dallas, TX)
Assignee(s): Airity, Inc. (Dallas, TX)
Law Firm: IP Legal Services, LLC (7 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 15414594 on 01/24/2017 (567 days app to issue)
Abstract: In described embodiments, a channel allocation system, such as a white space channel allocation system, employs a server processor and database to record communication characteristics of incumbent service providers licensed or otherwise registered to operate within certain frequency spectrum. The channel allocation system allows registration of licensed service providers, or access to existing licensed service provider databases, to obtain required information of communication characteristics to form protected service contours. Based on the protected service contours, the availability of channels in areas is pre-computed. In addition, unlicensed or unregistered users, such as TV band devices (TVBDs), register with the channel allocation system and request channel lists of channels to operate on with a query. The system performs an iterative search of areas with successively finer resolution and identifies channels that might be included in a channel list in response to the query.
