Law Firm: Adeli LLP (1 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 14968840 on 12/14/2015 (1331 days app to issue)

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for configuring unit memories of a forwarding element. The method configures a first pool of unit memories to implement several match entries that each include a set of match conditions and an address for an action entry to read when the set of match conditions are met. The method configures a second pool of unit memories to implement several action entries. Each unit memory in the second pool includes a set of action entries that are collectively assigned a virtual memory address. The method moves a particular set of action entries from a first unit memory in the second pool to a second unit memory in the second pool. The particular set of action entries retains a same virtual memory address after moving to the second unit memory.

Law Firm: Vierra Magen Marcus LLP (2 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 15921165 on 03/14/2018 (510 days app to issue)

Abstract: Techniques are provided for improving the accuracy of read operations of memory cells, where the threshold voltage of a memory cell can shift depending on when the read operation occurs. A memory cell is sensed by discharging a sense node into a bit line and detecting an amount of discharge at two sense times relative to a trip voltage. A bit of data is stored in first and second latches based on the two sense times, to provide first and second pages of data. The pages are evaluated using parity check equations and one of the pages which satisfies the most equations is selected. In another option, word line voltages are grounded and then floated to prevent coupling up of the word line. A weak pulldown to ground can gradually discharge a coupled up voltage of the word lines.

Abstract: A pay-at-the-table device is augmented to include an imaging sub-system having one or more image-capture components. A front-facing image sensor records video, or takes still photos. A wide view image sensor/lens captures a view of an entire table (or some portion thereof). When table images are captured by the imaging system, image post-processing is used to ensure that any details that can identify the individual patrons are masked or otherwise obscured; in this way, only generic demographic data (e.g., number of patrons, gender, approximate age, etc.) is captured, and all such data is maintained anonymously and without reference to any payment or other information that might provide the restaurant with the patron”s true identity. The image-capture components may also include image sensors enable events (e.g., drinks needing refills, entre arrival, etc.) to be monitored. An infrared image sensor captures thermal data, which can identify the temperature of the prepared food.

Background foreground model with dynamic absorption window and incremental update for background model thresholds
Patent No. 10373340

Inventor(s): Kishor Adinath Saitwal (Pearland, TX), Lon W. Risinger (Katy, TX), Wesley Kenneth Cobb (The Woodlands, TX)
Assignee(s): Omni AI, Inc. (Dallas, TX)
Law Firm: No Counsel
Application No., Date, Speed: 15582558 on 04/28/2017 (830 days app to issue)

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for creating a background model of a scene using both a pixel based approach and a context based approach. The combined approach provides an effective technique for segmenting scene foreground from background in frames of a video stream. Further, this approach can scale to process large numbers of camera feeds simultaneously, e.g., using parallel processing architectures, while still generating an accurate background model. Further, using both a pixel based approach and context based approach ensures that the video analytics system can effectively and efficiently respond to changes in a scene, without overly increasing computational complexity. In addition, techniques are disclosed for updating the background model, from frame-to-frame, by absorbing foreground pixels into the background model via an absorption window, and dynamically updating background/foreground thresholds.

The program pulse can be applied during the setup of the voltages for the erase-verify test. The magnitude of the program pulse can be increased in successive erase loops of an erase operation as the magnitude of a substrate voltage is also increased. The magnitude of the program pulse can also be set as an increasing function of a number of program-erase (P-E) cycles.

File security tool
Patent No. 10374801

Inventor(s): Manu J. Kurian (Dallas, TX)
Assignee(s): Bank of America Corporation (Charlotte, NC)
Law Firm: No Counsel
Application No., Date, Speed: 15650278 on 07/14/2017 (753 days app to issue)

Abstract: An apparatus includes a tokenizer and a validator. The tokenizer divides a file into first, second, and third portions. The tokenizer also encrypts the first, second, and third portions using a first key to produce first, second, and third tokens. The validator receives a fourth token with a signature of a first user and receives a fifth token with a signature of a second user. The validator also combines the first token, the fourth token, and the fifth token to produce a second key and determines whether the second key matches the first key. If the second key does not match the first key, the validator communicates an alert indicating that the first key does not match the second key. If the second key does match the first key, the validator decrypts first, fourth, and fifth tokens to reproduce the file.

Probe landing detection
Patent No. 10373799

Inventor(s): Yoav Neuman (Plano, TX)
Assignee(s): FEI Company (Hillsboro, OR)
Law Firm: No Counsel
Application No., Date, Speed: 15253680 on 08/31/2016 (1070 days app to issue)

Abstract: Probe landing is detected by detecting a change in a vibration of the probe in a plane substantially parallel to the work piece surface as the probe is lowered toward the work piece. The vibration may be observed, for example, by acquiring multiple electron microscope images of the probe as it moves and analyzing the images the determine a characteristic, such as the amplitude of the vibration. When the probe contacts the work piece surface, the friction between the probe tip and the work piece surface will change the characteristic of the vibration, which can be detected to indicate that the probe has landed.

Application No., Date, Speed: 15852175 on 12/22/2017 (592 days app to issue)

Abstract: A method and system for transmission of digital content via e-mail with point of use digital rights management is disclosed. The secured access rights to the digital content may be customized for individual recipients by the sender, and may evolve over time. The access rights are enforced according to a time-dependent scheme. A key server is used to arbitrate session keys for the encrypted content, eliminating the requirement to exchange public keys prior to transmission of the digital content. During the entire process of transmitting and receiving e-mail messages and documents, the exchange of cryptographic keys remains totally transparent to the users of the system. Additionally, electronic documents may be digitally signed with authentication of the signature.

Joint optimization of a radio access network and a distributed antenna system
Patent No. 10375587

Inventor(s): Maurice D”Souza (Plano, TX)
Assignee(s): CommScope Technologies LLC (Hickory, NC)
Law Firm: Fogg Powers LLC (1 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 16160870 on 10/15/2018 (295 days app to issue)

Abstract: Certain features relate to systems and methods for jointly optimizing a radio access network (RAN) and distributed antenna system (DAS). A joint RAN-DAS self-optimizing network (SON) entity can determine target parameters based on parameters specific to the DAS and parameters specific to the RAN. The joint RAN-DAS-SON entity can optimize the RAN and DAS using the target parameters. Jointly optimizing the RAN and the DAS can improve the capacity characteristics, coverage characteristics, or the performance characteristics of the RAN and DAS. In some aspects, the joint RAN-DAS-SON entity can optimize the RAN and DAS by re-allocating power levels of downlink signals transmitted by remote units of the DAS to compensate for underutilized carrier signals in situations of low traffic load.
