Application No., Date, Speed: 15486292 on 04/12/2017 (748 days app to issue)

Abstract: Remote inductive sensing uses a sensor resonator with a remote sense inductor coupled to a resonator capacitor through a shielded transmission line. The T-line includes a signal line and a shield return line: the sense inductor is connected at a T-line sensing end between the signal line and the shield return line, and the resonator capacitor is connected at a T-line terminal end to at least the signal line. An inductance-to-data converter (IDC) is connected at the T-line terminal end to the signal line and shield return line (set to a common mode voltage). In operation, the IDC drives oscillation signals over the signal line to the sensor resonator to sustain a resonance state, with the sense inductor projecting a magnetic sensing field, and converts changes in oscillation drive signals, representing changes in resonance state resulting from a sensed condition, into sensor data corresponding to the sensed condition.

Reticle with reduced transmission regions for detecting a defocus condition in a lithography process
Patent No. 10274841

Inventor(s): Akihiro Tobioka (Yokkaichi, , JP)
Assignee(s): SanDisck Technologies LLC (Addison, TX)
Law Firm: Vierra Magen Marcus LLP (2 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 15724488 on 10/04/2017 (573 days app to issue)

Abstract: A reticle for a semiconductor lithography process includes a glass plate having regions with a reduced optical transmission factor. The regions may include arrays of elements comprising defects such as cracks or voids which are formed by laser pulses. The regions may be adjacent to openings in an opaque material at the bottom of the reticle to shield the openings from a portion of the light which illuminates the reticle from the top. As a result, the light which exits the reticle and is used to pattern a substrate has an asymmetric intensity. This allows the substrate to be patterned with an inspection mark which indicates whether a defocus condition exists, and whether there is a positive or negative defocus condition. Related methods use a reticle to form a pattern on a substrate and for adjusting a focus condition using a reticle.

Early ramp down of dummy word line voltage during read to suppress select gate transistor downshift
Patent No. 10276248

Inventor(s): Ching-Huang Lu (Fremont, CA), Vinh Diep (San Jose, CA)
Assignee(s): SanDisk Technologies LLC (Addison, TX)
Law Firm: Vierra Magen Marcus LLP (2 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 15849019 on 12/20/2017 (496 days app to issue)

Abstract: Techniques for reducing a downshift in the threshold voltage of a select gate transistor of a memory device. Due to an electric field in a NAND string, holes can move in a charge-trapping layer from a dummy memory cell to a select gate transistor and combine with electrons in the transistor, reducing the threshold voltage. In one approach, the electric field is reduced at the end of a sensing operation by ramping down the voltage of the dummy memory cells before ramping down the voltage of the select gate transistors. The ramp down of the voltage of the selected memory cells can occur after ramping down the voltage of the dummy memory cells and before ramping down of the voltage of the select gate transistors. A further option involves elevating the voltage of the select gate transistors before it is ramped down.

Inventor(s): Jeff J. Stapleton (Arlington, TX)
Assignee(s): WELLS FARGO BANK, N.A. (San Francisco, CA)
Law Firm: Foley Lardner LLP (Local + 13 other metros)
Application No., Date, Speed: 15299308 on 10/20/2016 (922 days app to issue)

Abstract: The methods and system allow for the generation of a biometric electronic signature token using a subsequent biometric sample after an enrollment of a biometric reference value in a biometric system. The biometric electronic signature token is such that the data would be signed data, cryptographic message type, to package this signature, providing two authentication factors: the possession of the private key associated with the public/private key pair used to sign the signed data and the biometric sample of the user that could be matched against the template. The process allows a signing party to enroll in a biometric service, sign a piece of data or content using a public key, that may be tied to a trusted anchor certificate authority, and submit a biometric sample. Subsequently, the relying party may validate the information on that piece of data or content to confirm the identity of the signing party.
