CBRE Report: DFW Leads the U.S. in Multifamily Real Estate Investments

A new report from Dallas-based CRE services and investment firm CBRE shows that DFW was No. 1 in the U.S. in multifamily investments over the last four quarters. Nationwide, Q1 2022 saw the strongest multifamily absorption since 2000. And Texas is leading the U.S. in multifamily completions, as rent growth continues to gain momentum. “The rise in demand has been fueled by household formation, job and wage growth, and sharply rising home prices,” the report said.

Founded in 2008, Meow Wolf began as a collective of Santa Fe artists, writers, performers, and architects. Today, at permanent installations in Santa Fe, Las Vegas, and Denver, Meow Wolf creates immersive and interactive experiences "that transport audiences of all ages into fantastic realms of story and exploration."

In 2023, Meow Wolf plans to do just that in a new location at Grapevine Mills mall, followed in 2024 by another permanent installation in Houston's Fifth Ward.

Dallas Fed Names Lorie Logan as its First Female President, CEO

Logan is currently the executive vice president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and the manager of the Systems Open Market Account for the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC), where she oversees the system’s $9 trillion securities portfolio and leads the implementation of monetary policy as directed by the FOMC. Starting August 22, she'll be leading the Dallas Fed and its 1,200 employees while representing Texas and parts of Louisiana and New Mexico, helping to shape Fed policy amid the current inflation crisis.

Payroll Giant Opens Grapevine Office, Making North Texas Home to its Second Largest Operation

Paycom Software, an Oklahoma City-based payroll processing and human resources solutions firm, has opened a new operations center in Grapevine. Construction on the 150,000-square-foot, 14-acre campus began in 2019 with the aid of $5 million in Grapevine tax incentives. One thousand employees are expected to work there by end of 2022.

Fujitsu Boosts U.S.-Mexico Bandwidth with New Dallas-Focused Network Deployment

Fujitsu’s Richardson-based network communications business is deploying its optical fiber multiplexing technology to increase the bandwidth for Vívaro Telecom’s newest network that plans to operate between Dallas and McAllen, Texas.

The move comes a month after Shingo Mizuno relocated from Japan to North Texas to serve as the president and CEO of Fujitsu's networks communications unit.
