A home nestled in—and open to—nature. A school that buzzes with literary inspiration. A hospital that seems to swoop through the sky. They're just three of the winners of the 2022 AIA Dallas Built Design Awards.
Here's a look at the 10 award-winning projects, which all feature "thoughtful architecture that enliven the fabric of their communities," according to the awards committee chair.

Frisco-based Dude Perfect—a group of five friends whose trick-shot videos and wild stunts have amassed 58 million YouTube subscribers—is thinking big with a new planned HQ. It features a 330-foot-tower that will enable fans to take "The Impossible Shot." The new HQ is a vision in search of a home—its location has yet to be determined.

IDP aims to employ 40 works in Rockwall when the facility's up and running, with 25 to 30 coming from the local talent pool. Buschold says IDP plans to get involved in local trade programs, hoping to help train the next generation of workers in the manufacturing, engineering, and production fields.
He's not alone. Workforce training and development has been at the top of the list for many in North Texas recently. Dallas College has made it a major part of its agenda for the region, and in July was awarded a $5 million Apprenticeship Building America grant by the U.S. Department of Labor for its apprenticeship programs.

Southlake-based HeartSciences, which closed on a $6.375M IPO in June, applies AI-based technology to an ECG to detect cardiac dysfunction—one of the earliest signs of heart disease. The company says this can't be diagnosed by current conventional ECGs, making its MyoVista Wavelet ECG device a potential game changer.
CEO Andrew Simpson says adding this diagnostic information to an ECG "addresses a significant unmet need in the market with an estimated 100 million-plus ECG tests performed annually in the U.S.A. alone."

Founded in 2003, Beneficient aims to be listed on the Nasdaq via a merger with San Francisco bank-check company Avalon Acquisition Inc. The deal values Beneficient—whose end-to-end platform provides liquidity, data custody, and trust services for alternative asset holders—at $3.5 billion.
