Law Firm: Global IP Counselors, LLP (9 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 14190371 on 02/26/2014 (1616 days app to issue)

Abstract: A dual axes swivel connector for connecting various panels to assemble a pet enclosure is disclosed. The dual axes swivel connector allows panels of the enclosure to be reliably pivoted with respect to each other. The dual axes swivel connector may comprise first and second parts. The first part may be fabricated from a flexible material compared to the second part, whereas the second part may be fabricated from a more rigid material compared to the first part. The flexibility of the first part allows the first part to have a tighter fit with the wire rods. The second part has a looser fit with the wire rods but the rigidity of the second part compensates for the looser fit. When the first and second parts are interlocked, they create a tight fit which can reliably provide a hinge between the panels.

Abstract: Techniques are provided to boost current in channels of memory strings during sensing operations based on a data pattern or a pattern of physical non-uniformities, such as non-uniform channel widths. In one aspect, sense circuits are modified for memory strings which typically store meta data in a high programmed state. A bit line clamping transistor in these sense circuits can be configured with a relatively low threshold voltage, resulting in a relatively high clamping voltage which in turn causes a higher string current during sensing. The lower threshold voltage can be achieved by at least one of a shorter control gate length, a smaller oxide thickness, a lower oxide dielectric constant, or a greater source and/or drain doping concentration. In another aspect, memory strings which expected to typically store high state data are fabricated with a relatively thicker channel and/or greater doping concentration.

Threshold adjustment for quantum dot array devices with metal source and drain
Patent No. 10038072

Inventor(s): John H. Zhang (Altamont, NY)
Assignee(s): STMicroelectronics, Inc. (Coppell, TX)
Law Firm: Seed IP Law Group LLP (1 non-local offices)
Application No., Date, Speed: 14982316 on 12/29/2015 (945 days app to issue)

Abstract: Incorporation of metallic quantum dots (e.g., silver bromide (AgBr) films) into the source and drain regions of a MOSFET can assist in controlling the transistor performance by tuning the threshold voltage. If the silver bromide film is rich in bromine atoms, anion quantum dots are deposited, and the AgBr energy gap is altered so as to increase V[subscript]t[/subscript]. If the silver bromide film is rich in silver atoms, cation quantum dots are deposited, and the AgBr energy gap is altered so as to decrease V[subscript]t[/subscript]. Atomic layer deposition (ALD) of neutral quantum dots of different sizes also varies V[subscript]t[/subscript]. Use of a mass spectrometer during film deposition can assist in varying the composition of the quantum dot film. The metallic quantum dots can be incorporated into ion-doped source and drain regions. Alternatively, the metallic quantum dots can be incorporated into epitaxially doped source and drain regions.
