Ride On: Dallas’ Design District to Roll Out Edgy Skate Rink With Retro Vibe

Coming this fall to the Dallas Design District, Ride On's adults-only “social drink rink” will offer a fusion of tech and nostalgia—with a restaurant, craft cocktails and mocktails, an arcade, and custom-made skates for the rink.

They’ve got brand new pairs of roller skates, and On Brand Hospitality Group has a brand new rink, too.

And here’s the key—Ride On, the new rink planned for the Dallas Design District, harkens back to the time when a roller rink was more than just a place to skate and listen to Madonna’s latest single blasting over the speakers. It was a place for friends to gather, create memories, and have an exciting time.

Coming this fall, Ride On will be located on the corner of Riverfront and Pittsburg at 1001 N. Riverfront Blvd.

Adrian Verdin, CEO of On Brand Hospitality, said he was inspired to change the outdated reputation of the old-time rink in his newest food and beverage concept, Ride On. It will be an adults-only roller-skating rink offering an elevated social experience with a chef-driven menu, arcade area, DJ booth, and more.

Ride On will span more than 17,000 square feet of space and is geared toward revolutionizing the roller skating experience, the company said.

Called a “social drink rink,” visitors will be able to enjoy craft cocktails and mocktails with their friends, while skating on custom-made “Ride On” skates.

‘Nothing like this in the world’

Beyond the rink, the company said there will be high-class amenities for individuals to enjoy, including an arcade, lounge, restaurant, and bar.

Regardless of skating skills, owners Verdin and Vyctoria (Torry) Cray, COO of On Brand Hospitality, said they want Ride On to be a place where guests can have fun and let loose.

“We can say there is nothing like this in the world. Trust me, we’ve checked,” Verdin said. “An adult-only roller rink, quality food and beverage, state-of-the-art sound system, custom-made skates, and we can’t wait to reveal who our chef is.”

The rink itself will cover 7,000 square feet of space, featuring a disco ball DJ booth in the center and state-of-the-art sound systems. The facility brings an ’80s cyberpunk atmosphere that will transport individuals right back to the iconic decade.

Updating and upscaling roller rinks

“Designing this concept together has been so fun. It has been inspiring to pull memories from my childhood and Torry’s background and upbringing in nightlife and bring them together to create a new experience for people our age. We can’t wait to show everyone what our take is on a contemporary roller rink,” Verdin said.

“Adrian realized that while bowling alleys had evolved, roller rinks had not,” Cray said. “This inspired him to dive deep into the world of roller rinks and develop RIDE ON, the modern-day evolution of the classic roller rink.”

As the latest concept of On Brand Hospitality, Ride On encompasses Verdin’s creative and innovative thinking.

The company said his passion for the food and beverage industry has transformed ordinary dining experiences into elevated social scenes that can be seen across Dallas. Beyond OBH, Verdin is also a co-founder and managing partner of Bar Draught, the first turnkey cocktail draft program used by renowned establishments such as MGM, Aria, Hilton, Sea World, The American Airlines Center, and Whole Foods. He also serves as an operating partner at Jaxon Beer Garden since its inception in 2020.

Cray may be best known for her role as the VP of Operations at the Statler Hotel, where she managed all food and beverage operations for a number of years.

The duo launched On Brand Hospitality about a year ago, offering consulting services to the industry. And, they told Dallas Innovates, they have “many other projects in the works that we’re consulting on together that will be released soon.”
