Global technology company HCL Technologies announced Thursday the launch of its CyberSecurity Fusion Center (CSFC) in Frisco. The CSFC—a state of the art automation-driven security operations center—aims to detect cyber threats faster and respond better.
The company, which is headquartered in Noida, India, has a worldwide network of R&D, innovation labs, and delivery centers that employ more than 132,000 “Ideapreneurs.” The opening of the CSFC is the next phase of HCL’s strong relationship with the city of Frisco, HCL said. The relationship began in 2015 with the opening of HCL’s Global Delivery Center (GDC). HCL currently employs 556 people in Frisco and expects to add about 200 additional employees in the next few years.
HCL said the opening of the CSFC will support its mission to secure business growth by providing its customers with a single point of contact for the enterprise security lifecycle, from detection to remediation.
It’s a timely mission, according to Maninder Singh, corporate vice president, CyberSecurity Services at HCL Technologies. Digital organizations are home to massive amounts of sensitive data and mission-critical applications, and the CSFC in Frisco is designed to defend digital assets from security threats by leveraging intelligent, predictive, and adaptive systems. he said in a statement.
The past year-and-a-half has been an inflection point in cybersecurity, according to Singh in an interview with The Hindu. It’s no longer a side conversation for businesses: “I would say that cybersecurity, being a technical issue, which was not in the boardroom, is now a boardroom issue,” he said in the publication.
University-to-industry collaboration
The company also announced the launch of an university-to-industry collaboration with HCL Technologies. As part of a relationship with Collin College and the University of North Texas, HCL will conduct on-campus hackathons that will be overseen and coached by HCL executives. Top participants from the winning teams at each school will be offered full-time jobs and advanced training at the company.

CyberSecurity Center houses some of HCL’s best engineers, IT pros
HCL said the Global Delivery Center in Frisco houses some of the company’s best engineers and IT professionals to service the rapidly growing number of customers across the country.
Moreover, it also reflects its commitment to the state of Texas and the city of Frisco, both of which have been strategic partners to technology innovation and expansion.
The CSFC comes with HCL’s 20 years of security and engineering experience, more than 3500 certified analysts, and the experience of managing more than 350 Fortune 500 / Global 2000 clients, HCL says.
The center combats security risks using integrated cyber-threat intelligence to monitor for better, faster detection and remediation of security incidents. The center analyzes millions of events per second and monitors multiple IT and OT systems utilizing multiple cyberthreat intelligence sources, HCL says.
HCL’s first U.S. office opened in Silicon Valley in 1989. The opening of the CSFC in Frisco, the company says, comes as HCL celebrates 30 years in the United States.
