What’s Entrepreneur Summit?
5 Reasons Why You Should Attend

Lauren Hasson gives her takeaways from a recent conversation with Entrepreneur Summit Founder Erin Smith.

Entrepreneur Summit

Early in my career, I learned the hard lesson that it isn’t enough to be good at your job. People have to know you and know that you are good at what you do and, of course, what you do.

You could say, at the young age of 23, I learned how important your network is to your professional success. Taking this to heart, I vowed to never again find myself without a network.

It’s through the network I’ve built that I recently got to know Erin Smith, who founded Entrepreneur Summit. I was fortunate enough to snag an afternoon of her time recently to sit down and learn more about her March 30 event, hear the story behind its inception, and get a sneak peek into what’s instore for this year’s summit.

I was so inspired by what I heard that I turned my notes into this article so that I could share what I learned with the greater Dallas community.

These are my top five takeaways from my sit-down meeting with Smith. You can consider them the five reasons you should attend the Entrepreneur Summit this year.

This isn’t just a Dallas or Frisco event. Yes, it’s located in Frisco, a suburb of Dallas, but it’s not an event focused on the entrepreneur community of just Dallas or North Dallas. It’s an event focused on building a community of business leaders and entrepreneurs from all over, it just happens to be based here. The Entrepreneur Summit currently has people traveling from all over the country, with the majority focused in Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana. If you’re looking to branch out and connect with other business leaders outside of your community, then this is a great opportunity to do so.

This event isn’t about fluff or getting you in a room to sell.

You won’t learn concepts, you’ll learn proven strategies. The summit’s goal is to make sure every business owner who leaves that room has at least three impactful strategies they’re going to implement in their business immediately. This event isn’t about fluff or getting you in a room to sell. It’s about sharing some of today’s top technologies that businesses are using, along with fresh perspectives and proven strategies that the event’s experts have used to transform their own businesses.

You’ll learn from speakers you don’t get a chance to meet every day. Part of why the Entrepreneur Summit was started was because Smith was tired of traveling all over the country to hear from the speakers she wanted to learn from. It doesn’t get any more top notch than speakers such as Robert Herjavec, founder and CEO of the Herjavec Group and Shark Tank star or Amy Blankson, co-founder of GoodThink, Inc, who serve as a featured professor for an Oprah course. Then, Forbes Riley, who has sold more than $2 billion in product utilizing infomercials. These are just a few of the speakers, and they’re people you don’t get to hear from every day.

Relationship building never fails as a business growth strategy.

Growth doesn’t happen in a small office with just you and your team. Yes, the topics you’ll learn about are focused on growth, but stepping out of your comfort zone and learning from others and meeting them face-to-face will help get the word out about what you do and to meet others who can refer your business. It’s high time more people know who you are and what you do, don’t you think?  Come to learn and network to find ways to help cross-promote with others like you. Relationship building never fails as a business growth strategy. What’s great about the Entrepreneur Summit is that all of these people are making waves in their own industry, which always proves to be useful and people you will want to incorporate along your journey.

You’ll learn about some of today’s hottest technology trends, and how you can utilize them. As entrepreneurs and business leaders it becomes easy to stay on top of our own industry trends, but sometimes the world around us can easily pass us by. Technology is transforming the way we do business, and it’s crucial we understand how other industries are utilizing it so we can find ways to implement it in our own. If you want to stand above your competition, you have to do what no one else is doing and stay ahead of your competition. Most of the time those answers are found outside your current box of thinking. This event will focus on a few of today’s hottest technology trends and provide ideas and concepts to help you get ideas rolling on how you can utilize them in your business.
