Venture Dallas Hosts Startup of the Year Semi-Finalists at Petroleum Club

Top executives at Nasdaq and Susser Bank celebrated high-growth potential companies contributing to region’s rise in entrepreneurship and innovation

Ahead of the fifth annual Venture Dallas conference at the George W. Bush Presidential Center, Rachel Racz, Nasdaq Head of Listings for Texas, Southern U.S., and Latin America, and Sam L. Susser, Chairman and CEO of Susser Bank, honored the up-and-coming entrepreneurs and innovators fueling the growth of Dallas as an important hub of financial activity.

Nasdaq’s deepened commitment to Texas, marked by increased investment in the region and plans to open regional headquarters in Dallas, a trend Susser Bank mirrored by its expansion in Collin County and the recent opening of its new headquarters at Old Parkland.

“Across North Texas, entrepreneurs are turning ideas into companies with real customers, revenue, and national visibility. These semifinalists represent that momentum from seed to growth stage and reflect why Dallas is one of the most powerful places in the country to start and scale a business. At Venture Dallas, our goal is to showcase that progress and accelerate it,” said Aaron Pierce, chairman of Venture Dallas.

This year’s awards drew more than 140 nominations.

Previous winners of the Venture Dallas Startup of the Year award include Rosy Wellness and Kindly Human.

“As partners to the innovation community, we see Dallas converting entrepreneurial energy into durable growth,” said Rachel Racz and Sam L. Susser in a joint statement. “These semifinalists reflect that trajectory, and we’re committed to connecting them with the capital, customers, and market access that help great teams become great companies.”

Finalists will be announced on Thursday, October 30, at the Venture Dallas Conference. Confirmed speakers for this year include John Carmack, Ben Lamm, Jeff Cardenas, and Chris Camillo.
