As the VC firm nears the closing of its $200 million fund, the addition of Beau Spradling as CFO and the establishment of a permanent headquarters at Old Parkland will bolster the firm for its next phase of growth as it prepares for future funds, Balerion said.

Southwestern Medical Foundation Announces New CEO

Michael McMahan follows Kathleen Gibson as CEO, who spent 10 years at the helm of the foundation. McMahan worked for more than a decade at the George W. Bush Presidential Center. He'll now lead the foundation in its mission to build "a sustainable funding source for innovative research, best-in-class medical education, and the highest standard of treatment and care."

As many remember lost loved ones and heroic acts by first responders and citizens on 9/11, Old Parkland in Uptown Dallas has erected a newly commissioned bronze statue in honor of the heroes on United Airlines Flight 93. The "Non Sibi" monument "will forever be a reminder" of the crew and passengers of United Airlines Flight 93 that fought back against the terrorists who hijacked their plane.
