Dallas-headquartered global sports entertainment provider Topgolf and television maker TCL have announced a partnership to create lounges nationwide that will spawn esports entertainment designed for gamers of all kind.

The partners said that the first TCL esports lounge will open in early January at Topgolf Las Vegas, coinciding with the 2019 Consumer Electronics Show Jan. 8-11. TCL and Topgolf expect to reach more than 63 million guests annually over the multiyear partnership.

“Topgolf, at our core, is about bringing people from all walks of life together through play, competition, music, and food to share in meaningful moments,” Topgolf Media President YuChiang Chen said in a statement. “In partnership with TCL, we have reached out to a diverse group of gamers of all different backgrounds to give us input to make a welcoming space.”

Topgolf is known for its golf entertainment facilities across the nation that are visible from afar because of the high fencing that surrounds their driving ranges. TCL calls itself the fastest-growing television brand in North America.

Together, the two entertainment giants plan to add esports lounges in six Topgolf venues across the country.

The project aims to create an inclusive guest experience by offering daily esports play, as well as traditional sports viewing areas with TCL 4K UHD 6-Series televisions optimized for individual and group esports gaming. Guests will be able to play the games, and participate in special events, coaching sessions, viewing parties, and meet-and-greets with professional gamers.

Also, Topgolf plans to design turnkey solutions so esports events can be hosted at all of its venues. Topgolf said that it’s partnering with national esports leagues to host events, tournaments, qualifiers, and local and weekly leagues that will attract gamers, influencers, and celebrities to compete.

Topgolf venues in Austin; Charlotte, North Carolina; the Houston-Katy area in Texas; Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Scottsdale, Arizona will open TCL esports lounges throughout the first quarter of 2019. The timing of the openings will align with major events in regional markets, such as the NBA All Star Game in Charlotte and Topgolf’s WGT/PGA Tour Golf Events.
