Sheehan, who joined the experiential art collective Meow Wolf in 2019 after working at Walt Disney Imagineering for a decade, spoke with ArtNet about the collective’s recently opened permanent exhibition at Grapevine Mills mall in Grapevine.

And there’s a story inside, if you’d like to find it,” Sheehan added, speaking of the “compelling narrative” woven through the exhibition’s more than 30 rooms of “multidimensional art.”

Meow Wolf says its Grapevine exhibition is “a journey through a technicolor wonderland that blends storytelling, technology, and immersive art.” Different dimensions of perspective and creativity will be on display throughout the often mind-boggling experience.

ArtNet takes a deep dive into the 15-year history of Meow Wolf and the build-up to creating the 29,000-square-foot exhibition in Grapevine. The article notes that 40 artist collaborators, 30 of them Texans, were selected with guidance from Dallas muralist Will Heron, who acted as the Grapevine artist liaison.

One local artist, Dan Lam, created a melting, rainbow-colored wall for the exhibition, telling ArtNet, “I wanted to make an intentionally trippy experience. Under the lights, the colors shift and it looks like it might be moving.”
