The Dallas Foundation Announces $1.5M in New Grants to 45 Local Nonprofits

The grants were awarded from the organization's Field of Interest Funds, endowed funds which are customized to align with a donor’s interest in a specific cause, the foundation said. Historically, each year the funds cover a range of issues, including the arts, critical needs, children & families, and animal welfare.

The Dallas Foundation has announced $1.5 million in grants to 45 local organizations that will impact thousands of individuals across Greater Dallas.

“These Field of Interest grants empower organizations to have a profound impact in our city. Beyond the dollars, these grants are vehicles of change and social progress, supporting the nonprofits who strive to make a difference, and, ultimately, make Dallas brighter and more equitable,” Julie Diaz, interim president & CEO of The Dallas Foundation, said in a statement. “The enduring support we are able to provide to these causes identified by our donors is made possible through their remarkable generosity, many of whom entrusted The Dallas Foundation with their philanthropic resources decades ago, ensuring perpetual impact.”

The grants are awarded from the organization’s Field of Interest Funds and are endowed funds which are customized to align with a donor’s interest in a specific cause, the foundation said. Historically, the funds each year cover a range of issues, including the arts, critical needs, children & families, and animal welfare.

The foundation said that the grants are awarded from funds named for the donors who established them and prioritize partnerships that meet today’s pressing needs while positioning Greater Dallas for a brighter, more equitable tomorrow.
