Twenty-six Dallas County organizations secured support for causes spanning animal welfare to breast cancer assistance. Now, the foundation is gearing up for its Summer Grant Cycle, targeting nonprofits focused on early childhood development, family homelessness, workforce readiness, and more.

In his new role, Chris Luna will lead 153 employees and 992 volunteers in the 85-year-old organization’s mission to provide every animal exceptional care and a loving home by preventing and prosecuting animal cruelty, caring for rescued animals, and keeping pets in their loving homes.

The grants were awarded from the organization's Field of Interest Funds, endowed funds which are customized to align with a donor’s interest in a specific cause, the foundation said. Historically, each year the funds cover a range of issues, including the arts, critical needs, children & families, and animal welfare.
