$32M Pegasus Park ‘Bridge Labs’ Expansion to Get Start Next Month

Last month we told you about Bridge Labs, a $32 million, 135,000-square-foot lab and office expansion that was potentially coming to the Biotech+ Hub at Pegasus Park. Planning documents filed with the Texas Department of Licensing & Regulation now show that potential will become reality next month, when construction on the project is slated to begin. According to marketing materials, Bridge Labs will offer “best-in-class” purpose-built shell lab space plus spec suites ranging from 4,526 square feet to 7,722 square feet.

The annual Pegasus Prize is a $50,000 grant awarded to a local organization applying innovative approaches to addressing community needs. This year's finalists are Kosmos Arts & Tech, Project Lorenzo, and Seeds 2 STEM. The winner will be announced Tuesday at a 5 p.m. ceremony at Pegasus Park. "These organizations share a focus on fueling change that enables individuals to reach their full potential," says foundation president and CEO Matthew Randazzo.

In a ceremony Thursday night in New York City, Hill received a 2022 Carnegie Medal of Philanthropy along with fellow recipients Dolly Parton, Manu Chandaria, and Lynn and Stacy Schusterman. Dallas Innovates wrote about Hill's honor back in August. She was recognized by the Carnegie Medal for supporting women in STEM fields and inspiring girls to be interested in STEM careers, in addition to being recognized for investments in the life sciences, including cancer and mental health research and treatment; conservation; and empowering community-based nonprofits to maximize impact, the organization said.

ReCode Therapeutics, a biopharmaceutical startup using a non-viral lipid nanoparticle delivery platform for gene therapies, has closed a $120 million extension to a funding round it raised last year to help bring its lead programs to human trials and “follow the science” to target new diseases.
