Lyda Hill Philanthropies Supports DISD ‘Learning Voyages’ STEM Field Trip Program

More than 48,000 students, or about 35% of all DISD students, will participate in an off-campus learning experience aligned with their curriculum by visiting one of the following institutions: Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, Dallas Zoo, Environmental Education Center, or Perot Museum of Nature and Science.

The Cedars Union, a hub for emerging and mid-career artists in North Texas, is setting its sights on the next level of growth with the appointment of Emma Vernon as executive director. The North Texas nonprofit artist incubator’s upcoming cohort, launching this month, will be its largest ever, chosen from the most competitive applicant pool since its founding in 2015.

Southern Gateway Park will be an engineering marvel over I-35E, with five acres of wooded slopes, water features, rocky escarpments, a restaurant/retail complex hidden under a hilltop, and one of the most awesome kids' playgrounds in North Texas. But its greatest achievement may be to make Oak Cliff whole again—and to bring all of Dallas together.
