McWane, Inc. has received a newly granted patent for "Remote Monitoring of Water Distribution System," invented by Carrollton-based Brian Morrow and Colleyville-based Charles Kitowski. The patent describes a system that uses sensors on a fire hydrant to measure water characteristics and transmit data remotely over a network.
