Addison-based innovator Poo-Pourri, which pioneered before-you-go toilet spray, is again changing the game “to combat the great toilet paper shortage” of this year.
The brand is releasing its own Poo-Pourri Bidet, a device that transforms your toilet to a bidet in less than 15 minutes. It requires no plumbing or electricity, using the fresh water from the toilet’s water line to fill the retractable dual nozzles that clean front to back.
Poo-Pourri Bidet has an ultra-sleek design and thin profile that makes it more universal and eliminates the need to replace an entire toilet seat. The first shipment of the Bidet attachment is available now and starts at $69.99.
Poo-Pourri Bidet allows consumers to reduce their toilet paper usage by up to 75 percent, saving up to 100 rolls of toilet paper, according to the brand. That means it will pay for itself in as little as 5 weeks.
The Poo-Pourri website states that users can save up to $1,200 a year on toilet paper by using the new product.
“As a brand, Poo-Pourri is focused on innovations that will de-stigmatize taboo odors and the entire bathroom space, while helping save the planet by reducing toilet paper usage” Poo-Pourri CEO Jeff Berry said in a statement. “The research shows that bidets make the bathroom experience cleaner, less expensive and earth friendly so it was a natural progression and brand expression for us to develop a bidet that would discreetly transform the bathroom experience.”
Berry became the CEO of Poo-Pourri last month after founder Suzy Batiz stepped down and moved into the role of chairwoman and chief visionary officer.
The Poo-Pourri Bidet is not the only product the brand launched to combat challenges related to the pandemic. In March, the company launched a line of antibacterial products to pivot its usual bathroom products for consumers to stay healthy and safe.
Recently, Poo-Pourri was listed on this year’s Inc. 5000 list as one of many companies that “just keep going” in the midst of the ongoing pandemic and adapted to the challenges COVID-19 presented this year.
