Jeff Berry Becomes New CEO of Poo~Pourri as Founder Suzy Batiz Steps Down

The brains behind Poo~Pourri, Suzy Batiz, will move into the role of chairwoman and chief visionary officer. She remains the 'creative force' behind the business.

The Addison-based brand best known for making before-you-go toilet spray a bathroom staple, Poo-Pourri, is getting a new CEO.

Scentsible LLC, the parent company of Poo-Pourri, announced that Jeff Berry has been appointed as the brand’s CEO. The company’s founder and the visionary behind Poo-Pourri, Suzy Batiz, will move into the role of chairwoman and chief visionary officer.

Batiz has been stopping bathroom odor since founding the chic toilet spray in 2007. The quirky, outspoken, spunky powerhouse has grown Poo-Pourri into a nine-figure empire since, selling more than 100 million bottles worldwide.

Poo-Pourri said in a release that she will stay on at her brainchild as the “creative force behind the business,” with a focus on innovation, brand promotion, product development, and guiding others through her recently launched eight-week online program, ALIVE OS.

Batiz will also remain the CEO of her conscious concentrate cleaning product line, supernatural. Launched in 2018, supernatural is crafted with an all-natural formula, packaged in recyclable materials, and shipped as just-add-water concentrates. It has one of the lowest carbon footprints in the industry.

Though she’s led Poo-Pourri for over a decade, Batiz is welcoming the newest member to her ‘Poo Crew’ with open arms. She knew a turning point was coming, and looks forward to channeling her overflowing energy into transformative new segments.

“This next phase feels very much like sending a child off to college or into the workforce,” she said in a statement. “At a certain point, I knew that both the business and I would grow more freely by releasing one another. Jeff is undoubtedly well-suited to mentor Poo-Pourri into this next phase of rocket ship growth.”

Berry will be tasked with maintaining Poo-Pourri’s success and working in tandem with Batiz to oversee the company’s short and long-term strategic goals in his new role. The appointment comes at a time when the 13-year-old brand is entering its next phase of growth.

Berry has more than 20 years of experience in the consumer packaged goods and media and entertainment industries, according to a release. He joins Poo-Pourri from Yes To, Inc, where he was president of one of the largest natural skincare brands in the U.S.

There, he oversaw sales, operations, and finance.

Berry has also previously served as the CFO of Creative Artists Agency, CFO of Physicians Formula, Inc, and head of strategy and treasurer at Del Monte Foods.

“Under Suzy Batiz’s leadership, Poo~Pourri has become a household name and for many, has revolutionized their bathroom experience by working to remove the stigma against pooping while simultaneously masking the odor,” he said in a statement. “Poo fans appreciate our savviness when it comes to understanding them as consumers and I am excited to work hand-in-hand with Batiz and team to continue to deliver best in class products to our consumers.”
