Vision processing accelerator with low latency image distortion processing pipelines
Patent No. 12651306

Inventor(s): Mihir Narendra Mody (Bengaluru, , IN), Niraj Nandan (Plano, TX, US), Rajasekhar Reddy Allu (Plano, TX, US)
Assignee(s): TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INCORPORATED (Dallas, TX, US)
Law Firm: No Counsel
Application No., Date, Speed: 18828069 on 09/09/2024 (638 days app to issue)
Patent Class: [G06F]

Abstract: A lens distortion correction function operates by backmapping output images to the uncorrected, distorted input images. As a vision image processor completes processing on the image data lines needed for the lens distortion correction function to operate on a group of output, undistorted image lines, the lens distortion correction function begins processing the image data. This improves image processing pipeline delays by overlapping the operations. The vision image processor provides output image data to a circular buffer in SRAM, rather than providing it to DRAM. The lens distortion correction function operates from the image data in the circular buffer. By operating from the SRAM circular buffer, access to the DRAM for the highly fragmented backmapping image data read operations is removed, improving available DRAM bandwidth. By using a circular buffer, less space is needed in the SRAM. The improved memory operations further improve the image processing pipeline delays.

Patent Class: [H01Q]

Abstract: This application proposes multi-beam antenna systems using spherical lens with high isolation between antenna ports and compatible to 22, 44, 88 MIMO transceivers. Several compact multi-band multi-beam solutions (with wideband operation, 40%+, in each band) are achieved by creating dual-band radiators movable on the track around spherical lens and by placing of lower band radiators between spherical lenses. By using of secondary lens for high band radiators, coupling between low band and high band radiators is reduced. Beam tilt range and side lobe suppression are improved by special selection of phase shift and rotational angle of radiators. Resultantly, a wide beam tilt range (0-40 degree) is realized in proposed multi-beam antenna systems. Each beam can be individually tilted. Based on proposed single- and multi-lens antenna solutions, cell coverage improvements and stadium tribune coverage optimization are also achieved, together with interference reduction.
