BLACK HISTORY MONTH MOVIE VIEWING
J. Erik Jonsson Central Library, 1515 Young St., in Dallas
2 – 4:30 p.m.

In celebration of February being Black History Month, the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library in downtown Dallas will host a free showing of an award-winning movie. The movie will be one that focuses on a pivotal moment in the Civil Rights Movement, according to the event website.

The Dallas Entrepreneur Center, 311 N Market St., in Dallas
6:30 – 9:30 p.m.

The Dallas Entrepreneur Center is hosting a free event to bring together the artists, entrepreneurs, designers, musicians, agencies, and tech gurus to connect, inspire and collaborate, according to the event website. Blue, The Misfit will be the musical entertainment for the evening, and attendees will enjoy bites, sips, and a discussion between panelists:

THE MELTING POT: MULTI-CULTURAL POTLUCK & IMPROV JAM
Arts Mission Oak Cliff, 410 S. Windomere Ave., in Dallas
1 – 4 p.m.

Stomping Ground Comedy, a new Dallas-based nonprofit theater and training center, is putting on its first Melting Pot improv get-together. This event is free and welcome to all levels of performers, and a potluck and BYOB will serve as a prelude and ice-breaker to the improve comedy jam, according to the event website.

FREE KTCK SUPER BOWL LII WATCHING PARTY
The Bomb Factory, 2713 Canton St., in Deep Ellum
Doors open at 4 p.m.

KTCK The Ticket Sportsradio is hosting a watch party for Super Bowl LII at the Bomb Factory. Wiles BBQ will be served, attendees can enjoy the Bomb Factory’s 30-foot HD big screen, and there will be drink specials and prize giveaways each quarter.

TUESDAY, FEB. 6

THE BRAIN: AN OWNER’S GUIDE – 2018 BRAINHEALTH LECTURE SERIES
Center for BrainHealth, 2200 W. Mockingbird Lane, in Dallas
7 p.m.

The Greystone Foundation Lecture will host the Center for BrainHealth’s first Tuesday night lecture in the monthlong series. Assistant Professor of Neurology at University of California, San Francisco Dr. Melina Uncapher’s lecture, “Your Brain on Tech: Promises and Perils of Technology Use in the Developing Brain,” will encompass the growing evidence investigating how technology and media use may be associated with cognitive, psycho-social, and academic differences, and the implications for how we can engage with tech in our homes, schools, and daily life, according to the event website.

NETWORKING MIXER: LINKEDIN LOCAL

RA/QA NETWORKING EVENT WITH BCH REGS, INC.

BionorthTX RA/QA Committee will host a Betty Holland, president of BCH Regs, Inc., who will be presenting, “Drug Development: IND Process,” in which she will review the IND Portion of the new drug development process in the US, and overview of the FDA. In addition to hearing a talk from Holland, who has a wealth of knowledge after 35 years of working in drug development, consulting, and working with the FDA, there will be light bites and networking opportunities.

LINKEDIN LOCAL

In the efforts to make meaningful connections with likeminded business professionals, The DEC is hosting its second LinkedIn Local Dallas event. According to the event page, this type of event was initiated to connect people from all walks of life beyond company names and job titles.
